💪We’re committed to making good progress to improve the experience of learners.

Over the past 12 months, we’ve conducted more than 2.13 million driving tests, the highest rolling 12-month figure on record 📅

August 2026 data shows:

✅DVSA conducted 165,449 tests, the highest number for any August since records began in 2007.

✅The pass rate reached 52.1%, the highest since May 2021.

✅National average driving test waiting times continue to decline.

Before your driving test, tick these off your list. 📝🚗

Test day nerves are normal, but this checklist means you’ll have one less thing to worry about.

Here's what you need to bring with you to your driving test:

✅ Your UK driving licence. If you have a licence from Northern Ireland, you need to bring the Northern Ireland photocard, paper counterpart and theory certificate (if taken in Northern Ireland).

✅ A car that meets the rules, whether it's your instructor's or your own.
