Vauxhall Zafira 1.4 turbo
Customer says that he had it returned back from his local garage diagnosed with needing replacement engine. Came in non running. We never attempted to run it so we inspected the engine using scopes and testing equipment and found nothing wrong visually or even the turbo charger. We continued on and pressure tested the water system as these are renowned for head failure. Found nothing wrong. Unplugged a lot of sensors and then it came back to life. Customer was estimated 4 thousand pounds for something it definitely didn’t need!!! Ecu repair and replacement sensors were all it needed and quick service and mot is requested by customer.

Skoda rapid in today noisy engine and water loss. we diagnosed the water pump bearing has collapsed we turned this job round within hours as the customer needed his car rapid😂 …

A quick turnaround on a 2.2 transit engine that was running on 2 cylinders and pressurising the entire water system.. originally the egr cooler was the fault but as it is the company workhorse they ran this till it actually stopped!! Damaging head surface and valve seats and luckily enough no cylinder damage… but I have thoroughly checked everything but replaced rings and crank bearings upon building rather than do the costly rebore and crank grind to keep the cost down for the customer as requested… As in the image you can see the cylinder in question on the reface I’m doing which shows just how much this type of work really needs a reface . I don’t post much lately as very busy but my service is always available at a reasonable rate. Remember I also do all garage repair work including commercial vehicles 👍

Please look at this and understand that when a engine has overheated to a certain point it will lose compression on the valve seating process on your cylinder head.and as you can see on the image the seat is most definitely not in good shape as I’m cutting it back to a good shape. Some mechanics don’t think this is possible when a head gasket blows it can distort the valve seating and think a quick skim is enough! Well look again 👀

Here we have a ford fiesta . Customer complained about it shuddering and low power. We have seen this multiple times over the years. Quite a simple repair but should not be happening on cars not so old. Rotten core plugs between the ht leads causing damp contamination of the electrical system…

Yet again another ford wet belt transit 2019 failure.. all repaired the same day. This customer was over the moon with how fast we had his business back on the road. All you transit owners please don’t wait until the Big Bang 💥

Here is example of what is involved in repairing a head gasket failure on a ford transit. We don’t just replace the engine unless it is really necessary…, we reface the head and recut all valve seats to correct tolerances and replace all gaskets along with new components including timing chain and seals saving the expense of replacing it with a used motor that may fail in near future 💪

Here we have a Vw engine with intermittent issues. Now this vehicle had been to other garages for diagnostic tests and customer been charged for just that x 2 companies. Not one of them could actually bother to look at the components that were triggering the fault. So we had a peek during the diagnostic process and well
There ya go!!! Mice nested and they love wires !!!! Easy repair and told to park elsewhere 🤣
