HONDA INTEGRA DC5 🔥

This customer first visited us back at the old workshop with one goal in mind: to transform his pride and joy with more power and displacement, while also protecting it for many years of ownership to come.

After plenty of discussions, the customer opted for our K24 Frank package alongside our underseal package 📦

First things first — the underside!

This is probably one of the cleanest DC5 undersides I’ve ever seen! No welding required and only minimal surface rust. Not only was it great to see, but it was also a pleasure to work on 🤣

As usual, we stripped everything back where needed, prepared the underside and protected it using anti-corrosive epoxy primer and Raptor underseal. The majority of the underside bolts were also replaced to give everything a fresh, clean finish.

While the car was stripped down to a bare shell, the customer supplied us with a set of Bilstein coilovers, along with new track rod ends, ball joints and other components for us to install during reassembly.

Now onto the good stuff… the K24 Frank! 💥

You’ve all seen our K24 Frank packages before, so you know what they’re about! This time, however, the customer opted for some extra spicy bits to help achieve his desired power figure, while also adding to the overall look of the build.

The spec included:

* K24A bottom end
* K20A cylinder head
* Drag Cartel drop-in cams
* RRC inlet manifold
* 70mm throttle body
* Tegiwa exhaust manifold
* 2.5-inch exhaust system (customer’s choice)
* Grams injectors
* And plenty more!

As standard with all our K24 Frank packages, we fitted a brand-new genuine Honda timing chain kit and adjusted the valve clearances to specification.

On this particular build, we also installed a brand-new Exedy OEM clutch to complete the package.

With everything combined and the magic worked at Home of Europe's fastest FWD , we achieved an impressive 269hp and 260Nm 🔥

The customer has now collected the car and is absolutely over the moon with the transformation — his only regret is not doing it sooner!

MK7 Golf R — Dashboard Replacement & Inlet Manifold Replacement

This MK7 Golf R came into us following an unfortunate front-end collision, requiring a complete dashboard replacement.

As you can see from the photos, the passenger-side airbag had deployed, causing the dashboard to split. The customer supplied a complete replacement dashboard, which we swapped over to restore the interior back to OEM specification.

While the car was with us, we also diagnosed a fault code relating to the swirl flaps within the inlet manifold. The most effective repair was to replace the complete inlet manifold, along with new gaskets throughout to ensure everything was correctly sealed and leak-free.

Once the work was completed, we carried out the necessary adaptations and cleared all fault codes using VCDS.

The Golf R is now back to full power, with the airbag system fully operational and ready to protect the occupants should the unfortunate ever happen again.

Honda Civic Coupe K24 Frank 🇯🇵🔥

This Honda Civic Coupe came to us already K20 swapped, but after suffering a failing head gasket, the customer decided to take advantage of our drive-in, drive-out K24 Frank swap.

As with all of our drive-in, drive-out swaps, we supply and fit everything required, including:

• K24A engine
• Genuine Honda head gasket
• Genuine Honda head bolts
• Genuine Honda K24 timing chain kit, including guides
• Genuine Honda gaskets throughout

The K20 cylinder goes off to the machine shop for skimming along with a pressure test etc to make sure everything is in order

For this particular build, we were able to retain the original oil pump and associated components as the existing engine hadn’t suffered a catastrophic failure. In most cases, customers come to us after a K20 has failed, meaning these parts also need to be replaced.

Once the engine was back in the car and running, we sent it over to Gordan Home of Europe's fastest FWD for a remap to suit the new engine and supporting modifications.

The results were seriously impressive considering the minimal bolt-ons, making a healthy 264hp & 258Nm. 💪

The customer then drove the car all the way home to Scotland — nothing but smiles per miles! 😎

Another K24 Frank conversion completed and another happy customer. 🏁

2011 Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TDI DSG

This Volkswagen Golf came into us with a rattle coming from the engine area. After carrying out our diagnosis and further investigation, we traced the noise back to the dual-mass flywheel (DMF).

Once we removed the gearbox, it was clear that the DMF was the original unit from new and had developed excessive play, confirming our diagnosis.

We supplied and fitted a new dual-mass flywheel, reassembled everything and carried out our checks.

The result? The rattle was completely gone. Another successful diagnosis and repair. 🔧

2010 Mercedes C63

This Mercedes C63 came into us with an idling issue and an oil leak that needed investigating.

After carrying out a thorough inspection, we found the oil leak was coming from the passenger-side rocker cover. As a rule, we recommend replacing both rocker cover gaskets at the same time, so we replaced both to prevent any future issues.

We also carried out a smoke test to check for any air leaks. The test identified a split pipe, which was allowing unmetered air into the system and causing the idle to hunt. The faulty pipe was replaced, restoring a smooth and stable idle.

While the car was with us, we also replaced the rear discs and pads, which were well overdue for replacement.

Another day, another Transit wetbelt!

This van came into us for a precautionary wetbelt replacement. After the company had experienced multiple wetbelt failures in the past, they certainly weren’t taking any chances with mileage before getting them replaced.

And to be fair, prevention is definitely better than cure when it comes to these engines. Replacing the wetbelt before it becomes an issue is one of the best ways to help protect the engine and keep it running in A1 condition.

As always, we don’t just replace the main wetbelt and send it back out.

We replace the full wetbelt kit, including:

🔧 Oil pump belt
🔧 New timing cover
🔧 New oil sump

A proper job from start to finish, giving the customer peace of mind and helping to protect the engine for the miles ahead.

🚗 2022 Volkswagen Golf R

This Volkswagen Golf R came into us after an unfortunate meeting with a kerb. 😬

On initial inspection, we found the rear track arm was bent, along with the bolt. We replaced the damaged parts and sent the car off for tracking, but it quickly became clear that there was more damage than we had originally anticipated.

After a few back-and-forth conversations with the customer, we agreed that the best course of action was to replace the complete rear trailing arm assembly, including the hubs and associated components.

It turned out to be the right decision. Once everything was replaced, the car tracked up perfectly and now drives exactly as it should — like it never met that kerb in the first place! 👌

🔧 Honda Civic FN2 — Clutch Replacement

This Honda Civic FN2 came into us for a supply & fit Exedy OEM clutch replacement.

Having recently purchased the car, the customer wasn’t convinced the clutch had much life left in it — and after removing it, he definitely wasn’t wrong! 🤣 It was on the last few miles of its life.

For all of our clutch replacements, we use Exedy OEM replacement clutches, which have served us — and many of our customers — extremely well over the years.

🔧 2021 Ford Transit Custom 2.0 EcoBlue – Wet Belt Replacement

As many of you may have seen, we’ve carried out several wet belt replacements on the Ford Transit 2.0 EcoBlue engines, and unfortunately, these engines are well known for wet belts suffering from excessive wear, shedding teeth or, in some cases, snapping altogether.

Recently, a company contacted us with a fleet of Transits, all requiring their wet belts to be replaced. We’ll be uploading individual posts for each van, as the mileages vary and, interestingly, so do the conditions of the belts. Some of them are absolutely mental! 😳

This particular Transit, however, wasn’t too bad.

It still had its original wet belt, with only minimal tooth loss and relatively little visible wear to the belt itself.

👉 And this is exactly why correct maintenance matters.

When we talk about correct maintenance, we mean using the correct 0W-30 oil and keeping up with regular servicing. The condition of this belt is a great example of what proper maintenance can do.

As always, we’ve supplied and fitted a complete kit, including:

✅ Wet belt & tensioner
✅ Oil pump belt
✅ New timing cover
✅ New oil pan

This Transit has been given a new lease of life and is good to go for another day! 🚐💨

Honda Civic FN2 Type R 🔧

This Honda Civic FN2 Type R came into us for a full health check, along with the supply and fitting of an Exedy OEM replacement clutch and Yellow Speed coilovers.

While the car was on the ramp, we carried out the health check and noticed that both front drop links were worn and knocking. We also found that both front lower ball-joint boots were split, with noticeable play and knocking from the joints.

After speaking with the customer, we arranged to replace the worn components with new parts before completing the planned work.
