Annnnnnnddd PART 2 of the never ending list of jobs carried out on Gordon’s F31 330D

Stripping the intake system down showed severe heavy carbon build up despite this car doing regular long journeys on the motorway, personally we recommend our intake package to be carried out between 80,000-100,000 miles

We replaced the tired suspension that leaves XDrives feeling like a boat around corners in favour of my personal favourite setup which of course is Bilstein B8’s & AC Schnitzer springs

✅ Walnut blasting to intake ports

My first ever 2 part special 😅 and when I say 2 parts it’s because this vehicle has had that much work that Facebook won’t let me add 100+ photos. So get seated and have a nosey 👀 Part 2 coming tomorrow

Vehicle Details: 2016 F31 330D XDrive (93,731 miles)

So let’s get started on part one, booked in for our usual N57 package which consists of the following below, I must have done over 150 of these now, it’s safe to say I could do them with my eyes closed 🫣 and every one of them has been done to the same perfection as the first one 👌

It’s safe to say we caught this faulty fuel temperature sensor just in time as diesel was just starting to bleed past the connector, a must item to replace when having major engine removal work done to save you thousands in future repair costs, prevention is always better than the cure 💪

✅ Full timing chain replacement

✅ AS Performance Stage 1 Engine & Gearbox tuning

Well there’s a first time for everything 😅

Usually the main bearings fail before the timing chain does, this is my first ever snapped N57 timing chain after doing so many in the last 7 years

It is probably a good job it did fail as the bearings looked like they have seen better days, and a snapped timing chain is certainly less expensive than a failed main bearing 😮‍💨

❌ Cracked camshaft carrier
❌ Snapped rockers

Luckily all the valves/springs/collets were all in tact and had no damage so very lucky for Pete

BMW 640D F06 (108,606 miles)

Such a rare colour on the Fxx cars but personally against the gloss black M Performance kits they look 👌

Liams F30 335D (116,000 miles) in with us last week for some preventative maintenance work to keep it running healthy for years to come

Really bad oil staining from long service intervals, moving forward I advised Liam to carry out 8-10,000 mile / 12 Months service intervals to prolong the engine life

Heavy wear to main bearing cap 1, slight bronze colour showing through the layers. Caught this one just in time 😅

A BIG Mini job in for a change, storing faults for camshaft position not reached and heating system not synchronised on both passenger and drivers side

The idler sprocket on the B38’s & B48’s are incredibly tight! Often needed to be cut off to remove. This is why most garages don’t replace it, however on our timing chain replacements we replace ALL the components, no shortcuts, nothing missed 👌
