⚠️ ANOTHER CITROËN WETBELT FAILURE – BLOCKED OIL STRAINER! ⚠️
Another Citroën in the garage with a familiar problem. Take a look at the condition of this oil strainer! 👀
When a wetbelt begins to deteriorate, it can shed rubber particles into the engine oil. These particles can accumulate and block the oil pick-up strainer, restricting oil flow and causing serious engine oil pressure problems.
❌ What causes this?
🔧 Wetbelt replacement intervals being exceeded
🛢️ Incorrect engine oil specification being used
⏰ Skipped or neglected servicing
⚠️ The consequences can be catastrophic.
A blocked oil pick-up restricts the supply of oil to vital engine components. If oil pressure drops, internal engine components can suffer severe damage, potentially resulting in complete engine failure and a very expensive repair bill.
✅ Our advice?
Don’t ignore your wetbelt service interval. Make sure your vehicle is serviced on time and that the correct manufacturer-specified oil is used.
At JD Garage & Performance Centre LTD, we see the consequences of neglected wetbelts far too often. Prevention is always better — and cheaper — than replacing an engine!
