🔍 Two days of diagnostics to unravel multiple faults in this Aston Martin audio system.

We had this 2009 Aston Martin in the workshop after the audio system suddenly went from working normally to completely dead.

With the vehicle reporting a break in the MOST fibre-optic network, the only way to find the cause was to work through the system properly, module by module.

✅ Every audio module located and uncovered
✅ Interior panels and facias carefully dismantled
✅ MOST fibre-optic network visually inspected
✅ Modules tested and bypassed individually
✅ Rear wheel arch modules accessed and checked
✅ Multiple faults eventually identified

During testing we found evidence of water ingress around the modules located in the rear wheel arch, along with a fault involving the FM tuner.

However, even after bypassing those sections, the audio system still refused to come back to life.

So the search continued.

After working further through the vehicle and removing the subwoofer, we finally uncovered an old aftermarket iPod interface hidden away in the system.

Once that module was bypassed, we finally restored the MOST network and brought the audio system back to life. 👌

Two days of tracing fibre optics, uncovering modules and eliminating faults one by one — and now, once the replacement parts arrive, we’ve got another full day of carefully putting the car back together again! 😅

Electrical and audio faults like this aren’t always solved with a diagnostic computer. Sometimes you have to physically trace the entire network until every fault has been found and proven.

Here’s a polished version that leans into the transformation and the bespoke install work:

🔊 A huge improvement for this brand-new Pilote 720 motorhome.

This 2026 Fiat Ducato-based Pilote 720 arrived with a Pioneer EVO 98 already fitted, but the original factory speakers were a massive letdown compared with the rest of the system.

The vehicle was too large to get into the workshop, so luckily the weather was on our side and we could carry out the upgrade outside.

We upgraded the front speakers using Hertz Cento components fitted into our own bespoke 3D-printed speaker mounts, along with plenty of acoustic treatment to get the best possible result from the doors.

The difference is genuinely night and day.

The additional treatment has helped reduce road noise while also giving the new Hertz door speakers a much stronger and more controlled bass response.

Replacing the factory tweeters has also brought a much crisper, brighter top end, making the whole system sound far more balanced and enjoyable.

On a vehicle like this, speaker installation and door treatment are just as important as the speakers themselves. 👌

📻 Modern technology without spoiling a classic interior.

We had this beautiful 1980s Mercedes 280SL in the workshop today for a radio upgrade.

The car had previously been fitted with an aftermarket Clarion unit, so the brief was simple — bring the system up to date, but keep the dashboard looking as period-correct as possible.

We removed the older Clarion radio and replaced it with a Pioneer SXT-C10PS, giving the owner modern everyday features without fitting something that looks completely out of place in a classic Mercedes.

🔍 Not every job in the workshop is about fitting new equipment.

This 2009 Aston Martin Vantage is currently with us for diagnosis of an audio system fault alongside an airbag fault.

The audio issue is requiring a proper process of elimination. We’re working through the vehicle module by module, locating each component, testing it and bypassing sections of the system one at a time until we can identify exactly where the fault is hiding.

🌐 We’re back online.

After the Audio Division website went down over the weekend, we’re pleased to say it is now back up and running.

Sometimes these things are completely out of your hands, and in this case the issue was traced back to a data centre in France rather than anything at our end.

🔧 Sometimes fitting a new radio turns into fixing the old installation first…

This VW Transporter T5.1 came in today after its previous radio had failed — with a bit of loose change somehow finding its way into the CD slot! 🪙😅

The customer decided it was the perfect opportunity to modernise the van with a Pioneer DA77DAB.

Once we removed the old radio, we found the wiring behind it wasn’t something we were happy to leave as it was.
