On the day of your test

The trick is to treat it like it's just another normal day - try and stick to your routine as much as possible, whether that's going for a job, walking the dog, or just relaxing and watching some TV.

Lots of people book an extra lesson with their instructor to get used to the feeling of driving a car before their test, and so it's fresh in their memory

The examiner will check to see that you use your mirrors in good time, in the most appropriate order and act accordingly...

Changing direction (junctions-changing lanes- overtaking)

Changing speed (either slowing down, stopping or speeding up).

The examiner will also check to see that you use your mirrors frequently. How frequently will depend upon the road and traffic conditions at the time.

When meeting oncoming traffic, don't just think about the space you need drive into but how you're going to get back out...

Keep up your awareness and look out for any potential hazards.

Under the Road Traffic (New Drivers) Act, any driver who gets six or more penalty points within two years of passing your test will have their driving licence revoked. This includes any penalty pointsgiven before they passed their test. Penalty points are valid for three years.
