🔈Mechanic/Mot tester required🔈
I’m looking for s mechanic/MOT tester for an immediate start..We are an independent garage that covers both car and light commercial..This isn’t a difficult position and I’m very easy going to work with,however in my 20 years of business I have came across many different characteristics of staff,therefore I will list the exact and non exhaustive terms of the position..Should you to wish to apply please make sure you are suitable as per below...
1️⃣Be able to do the job,even though you have a fancy piece of paper,probably framed and on your mantle piece that says your a mechanic this doesn’t mean you are one..Just because Arnold says you can doesn’t mean you actually can..
2️⃣No superstars,these are the people who have had 30 jobs in there 2 year career..They stereotypically have the “arse left in the house baggy joggers/Rigger combo”..This along with a snap on seat cover and a DJ Rankin usb makes them a mechanical superstar..Not for me thanks,I like to call these people “technicians”..If I need my nails done or a pamper day I’ll give you a shout..
3️⃣No pop quiz mechanics,unfortunately cars don’t have questions 1-4 that you can choose from,nightmare I know but you will need to use a spanner not a pen...These type of people can often be known as a “master tech”..
4️⃣The ability to drive,legally..No fibbers or 12 pointers,my insurance is high enough..
5️⃣Party people,if you like a party that’s fine..Just remember the party starts at 5pm on a Friday and ends in time for your work on Monday..This isn’t Ibiza and I’m ceraintly not a vengaboy,if you can’t drop the party for work it won’t be the venga bus it’ll be the 201 to the job centre.
6️⃣The biggie...Timekeeping...Ability to tell the time is a must,if you struggle just think when it’s dark you go to bed and when it’s light you go to work..I’ve heard every excuse there is,literally..Still I always like a laugh so I’m always open to new ones..Also the definition of what day it is will be required,if it’s a Monday that means you go to work,Tuesday then follows as does Wednesday etc etc..You know where I’m going with this.
7️⃣Sense of humour,incase you haven’t already guessed I’m a little sarcastic and kinda say it how it is,I will say things that you take a minute to think about and when it does register with you it will always be correct and i did actually say it..yes I’m that guy.
8️⃣A healthy/Semi healthy family,this includes pets..I’ve covered more appointments than the nhs and I’ve heard more illnesses than a chinese gp,the list of family is non exhaustive so even if your 3rd cousins grans dog is due the vet make sure it’s after 5pm..And please make sure the same family member hasn’t died twice,it’s always awkward that one.
Anyway as I said this list is non exhaustive and i could go on all night but I guess if I did I’d have no applicants..😂
It’s all about the banter alongside getting the job done😉So who wants a job 🤷🏻♂️
