Council's Annual Wellbeing Event!

As a regular participant over the years, ISCAL was delighted to once again host a stall.

We were pleased to showcase our Supported Employment Service, highlighting how we help individuals achieve their employment goals while developing valuable skills and confidence. Visitors also had the chance to learn more about the various products and services offered through ISCAL.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. Together, we're helping create more inclusive communities and opportunities for all.

One of our clients has recently taken the next step on their journey, and we couldn’t be more proud 💙

They joined us at iscal looking for work experience, with low confidence, limited self‑belief, and concerns about judgement based on past experiences. During their time in the office, they worked closely with Gill, learning valuable admin skills and getting hands‑on experience with the day‑to‑day running of and .

From learning about our products and preparing customer quotes to answering the phone, updating spreadsheets, and capturing daily activity – including staff timesheets – they threw themselves into every opportunity.

On their final day, they surprised the team with thank‑you cards, a truly touching gesture that meant a lot to us all.

The growth in confidence and self‑belief was clear to see. Watching them realise they can work, achieve, and be part of a supportive, judgement‑free team has been incredibly rewarding.

Good luck in the future, Casey – we know this won’t be the last time our paths cross 🌟

New Volunteer!

Looking for support with confidence and looking for work.

Our client has just started volunteering with us after their Dad referred them to us.

The client is very quiet and shy, currently has zero confidence or self-belief.

He has only done 1 day of volunteering with us so far, but progress has been made already. His father was unsure that he would speak at all but did in his induction to his advisor. He has also turned up to his first day of volunteering without support.

We are really looking forward to working with him to see what progress is made over the next couple of months.

What a Year!

2025 has been incredible for us! Here’s what we’ve achieved:
✅ Created amazing products for our customers
✅ Printed countless coasters
✅ Collected and re-purposed waste wood, saving over 50 tonne from landfill
✅ Launched our first woodworking course (more coming in 2026!)
✅ Supported 80+ clients with employment services — 16+ now in paid jobs through volunteering, training, and tailored 1:1 support
✅ Delivered a Youth Employment Programme for 16–19-year-olds
And the cherry on top? At Our Stars Awards, we WON the Climate Heroes Award, and our Production Manager, Robert Gaukroger, took home the Workplace Wellbeing Award — both extra special because we made the awards ourselves! 🏆

CultureDale are working with ISCAL Coaster Factory to bring a free upcycled wood decorations stall to the Thriftmas event tomorrow, Saturday 7 December, 1pm - 4pm at Forest Cottage, Halifax. Crafts, food, goodies and Santa's Grotto – all activities are free.
