Toby went to test yesterday in his own car and passed on his first attempt with a great score of only 2 Driver Faults. Well done Toby, all the extra practice you put in really paid off. Take care out there.

On Wednesday Oli took his test and passed on his first attempt with only 5 driver faults. Very proud of the work he put in to get the result. Well done Oli! It was a pleasure teaching you. Drive safe

Okay, so you don’t get why last nights video outcome is 5050? First, make sure to watch the video till the end, that’ll help it make sense BUT if you need a TLDR: The case law putting this at 5050 reinforces the basic roadcraft things you learn when learning to drive.

Highway Code tells you to specifically be looking out for this eventuality, repeated in your theory test, in your practical lessons it should have also been drummed into you.

Ultimately basic roadcraft is to not look to pass vehicles on roundabouts and check its safe to exit a roundabout, and for those on the outer edge being aware driving around the outer edge will affect other road users.

I’ve been in the same position as the BMW driver hundreds of times probably thousands, and if someone’s to my left like that, I just go round again, it is what it is, if it happens, no biggy.

After battling through the crazy morning traffic in Trowbridge we got to the test centre just in time for Erin’s test. I accompanied her on the test and she did a great job passing with only 3 Driver Faults. It was a pleasure teaching Erin and really happy she’s passed before heading off to uni. Enjoy the freedom Erin.
