As the weather warms up, your tyre pressures change too.

For every 10°C increase in temperature, tyre pressure can rise by around 1 PSI. That might not sound like much, but incorrect tyre pressures can affect:

Here’s something a lot of drivers don’t realise… your car might not actually have a spare wheel.

More and more modern cars now come with either run-flat tyres or just an inflation kit instead of a full-size wheel.

And when you’re stuck at the side of the road with a puncture, that’s usually when people find out.

🚗 Full-size spare – swap it on and carry on as normal
🚗 Space-saver spare – temporary use only with speed restrictions
🚗 Run-flat tyres – can keep going for a limited distance after a puncture
🚗 Inflation kit – only works on certain types of punctures

The important thing is knowing what your car has and knowing how to use it before you actually need it.

We’ve got a lot of respect for high-mileage cars.

Anyone can own a car when it’s new. Keeping one reliable at 150k, 200k or even 300k miles? That takes proper maintenance.

This is exactly why wet belts have become such a big talking point. 👀

This wet belt was removed from a 1.0 Ford EcoSport after being sent to us by another garage that doesn’t carry out wet belt replacements.

And the honest truth? This engine was potentially hours away from catastrophic failure.

Wet belts run inside the engine, submerged in oil. Over time, they can degrade, crack, shed material and begin to break apart. When that happens, debris can block the oil pickup, starve the engine of lubrication and the result is often a full engine replacement 💸

The scary part? Many drivers have no warning signs at all until it’s too late.

If you drive a vehicle with a wet belt setup and you’re unsure of its service history, it’s worth getting it checked before it becomes a very expensive surprise.
