The Journey So Far | Part 3
In October 2023, the opportunity came to move into Unit 1, Turfford Park.
Looking back, it didn't feel like taking a leap. It felt like the next natural step because the foundations had already been laid.
Everything that came before—the mobile van, Yard 1, the support of customers, suppliers, family and the people who have worked alongside me—made this possible.
Over the years, Wayne, Joe, Chloe, Darren and Luke have all played their part in the story of Auto Solutions Borders. Every chapter has brought different people, different ideas and different opportunities to learn and grow.
Today, I'm proud to be moving forward with Darren and Luke as we continue to invest in the business, embrace new technology, while staying true to the values that have been there from day one.
The workshop has changed.
The equipment has changed.
The business has grown.
But one thing hasn't.
The commitment to doing the job properly and treating people fairly.
Thank you to every customer, supplier, friend and family member who has supported Auto Solutions Borders over the last ten years.
The journey so far has been built on strong foundations.
The next chapter starts here.

The Journey So Far | Part 2
The next chapter began at Yard 1, Turfford Park.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank J W G Miller Ltd, especially Alan, Derek and Norry, for giving Auto Solutions Borders a home and the opportunity to grow. Looking back, I couldn't have asked for a better place to build the next chapter of the business.
Those years certainly tested us. We worked through COVID, spent long days behind closed doors and simply kept moving forward.
It was also where the business really started to take shape. Wayne joined me in 2022 as my first employee, followed by Joe as Service Advisor and later Chloe when Joe headed off to Australia.
Every one of them played a part in the journey.
When the opportunity came to move into Unit 1 in October 2023, it didn't feel like taking a leap. It felt like the next natural step, because the foundations had already been laid.
Looking back now, Yard 1 wasn't just a workshop... it was where the foundations were built for everything that followed.

🥊 A Performance to Be Proud Of
Congratulations to Lara Brown on her performance at the Commonwealth Games.
Stepping into the ring against someone of Michaela Walsh's experience was always going to be a huge challenge, but Lara approached it with courage, composure and determination from the opening bell to the last.
Results are only one measure of success. The way you conduct yourself, the willingness to test yourself against the very best, and the lessons you take away are what shape an athlete's future.
Everyone at Auto Solutions Borders is incredibly proud to support Lara on her journey. She represented herself, her team and Scotland with pride, and that's something nobody can take away.
This is only the beginning. The experience gained on a stage like this will be invaluable, and we're excited to see where the next chapter of her boxing career takes her.
Keep believing. Keep learning. Keep moving forward.

Ten years... where did that go?
I'm not really one for anniversaries or making a fuss about milestones, but during the first week of August Auto Solutions Borders quietly reaches ten years in business.
Looking back at these photos has made me realise just how far the journey has been.
It all started with this Mercedes Sprinter.
An ex-fire crew support unit that became my workshop on wheels.
It wasn't glamorous, but it was reliable, fully equipped and gave me the opportunity to build something from the ground up.
I travelled all over the Scottish Borders carrying out diagnostics, air conditioning work, servicing, electrical repairs and helping local garages with holiday cover whenever they needed an extra pair of hands.
I didn't start out with a ten-year plan.
I simply wanted to build a reputation for doing the job properly, being honest with customers and never stopping learning.
Looking back now, I don't think the business has ever been about chasing growth.
Each step has happened because the foundations underneath had become strong enough to support the next one.
That old van laid the first of those foundations.
Over the few posts I'd like to share a few memories of the journey from one man in a van to where Auto Solutions Borders is today.
