Retainer or project? Pick a side.
Every service business owner has an opinion on this one. Retainer means steady income and ongoing relationships, but the pressure to keep proving your worth month after month. Project means clear scope and a clean finish, but the constant hunt for the next one.
We've seen both work. We've seen both go wrong.
The businesses that thrive on retainers are the ones with systems tight enough to show progress without a client having to ask. The ones that thrive on projects are the ones with a pipeline full enough that they're never negotiating from a place of panic.
Neither model saves you if your follow-up is broken. Neither model saves you if leads sit in your inbox for three days before anyone replies.
So which camp are you in? Retainer or project? Drop it in the comments.
