The DVSA is reminding learner drivers that unofficial test-finder apps, social-media bookers and third-party slot scanners now breach the booking terms — and can get your test cancelled. Here's exactly what changed on 12 May 2026, what happens if you're caught, and how I help my pupils book legitimately and still get an earlier date.

The DVSA has issued a fresh warning to learner drivers: stop using unofficial apps, websites and social-media "bookers" to find driving tests. Since 12 May 2026, only the learner themselves is allowed to book, change, swap or cancel a car driving test on GOV.UK — and breaching those terms can get your test cancelled and your online account suspended.
