Due to recent fuel prices increasing.....
I've decided to change my vehicle, to the flint stones vehicle, where its powered by only your legs no fuel needed! 🤣 (really showing my age here, if you've never heard of it, look it up) 🤣

But here's some tips to help save fuel -
✅️ look far ahead to help reduce harsh braking and acceleration.
✅️ change into higher gears early
✅️ use cruise control where possible
✅️ take out any unessary weight, such as items in the boot that you dont need for that journey
✅️ Ensure tyre pressures are correct for your vehicle

❓️ Fact Friday❓️
Did you know as driving instructors if we are charging for lessons we must be displaying a green or pink badge in our windscreens.
These badges have some important information on-
🔴Expiry date shown on the outside of the vehicle like the one in the image.
🔴A picture of the instructor.
🔴Name of the instructor.
🔴Insructors unique personal reference number.

These badges are to prove that the DVSA have done the relevant checkes for your driving instructor to be a fit and propoer person to charge for driving lessons.

Whats the difference between a pink badge and a green badge?

Green badge - means the instructor has passed all 3 tests and has been approved by the DVSA

Pink badge - means the instructor has passed the first 2 tests and is using the pink licence to gain training and experience before there final test.

I started my journey to be an instructor on a pink licence its a great way to learn and develop your skills.

If your driving instructor doesn't display a badge in there window and you're paying for the lessons, then you should be asking to see there badge, if they do not have one or its expired then you should not be paying for the lesson and should not continue with lessons with that person, and report them to the DVSA.

❓️Fun fact friday! ❓️
Did you know the first driving tests didn't have test centers? 🚗💨
When driving tests became compulsory in the UK back in 1935, test centers didn't exist yet! Learners had to meet their examiner at agreed local landmarks, like town halls, post offices, or railway stations. Imagine pulling up to a busy train station for your parallel park!
Drop a comment below: where’s the most iconic landmark near you that would’ve made a chaotic starting line? 👇

Fun Fact Friday: The Secret Rules of Headlight Flashing! 💡🚗
Did you know that flashing your headlights isn't actually meant for saying "thanks," letting someone out, or warning people about a speed trap?
According to Highway Code Rule 110, you should only flash your headlights to let other road users know you are there.
Even wilder: flashing your lights to warn other drivers about a police speed check can be seen as obstructing an officer, which carries a potential fine of up to £1,000!
The Takeaway: Keep your flashes simple—just a polite "I'm here!"
Question: How many times a week do you see drivers use their lights to say "after you"? Let us know below! 👇

Fun Fact Friday 🚗

🛑The Story Behind the Red "Stop" Sign

🛑The only 8-sided sign: The "STOP" sign is the only road sign in the UK shaped like an octagon (8 sides).
🛑Why the unique shape? It was designed this way so drivers can recognize it instantly—even if it's covered in snow, dirt, or viewed from behind.
🛑Full stop required: Unlike a "GIVE WAY" sign where you can keep rolling if the road is clear, you must bring your wheels to a complete stop at a "STOP" line.
✅️Learner tip: Stopping fully at a stop sign isn't just a rule—failing to come to a complete standstill at a stop sign on your driving test, will result in a serious fault.

FUN FACT FRIDAY🚗
Did you know? If you are supervising a learner driver from the passenger seat, you are legally considered to be in control of the vehicle. That means if you fall asleep, check your phone, or drink alcohol, you can be fined up to £1,000 and get 6 penalty points on your own licence! 😴🚗

Fun Fact Friday: Flashing Speed Traps 📸🚨

Flashing your headlights to warn oncoming drivers about a mobile speed camera up ahead might feel like a helpful gesture, but it could cost you up to £1,000!

The law views this as intentionally "obstructing a police officer in the line of duty".

Remember: Flashing your headlights are only meant to let others know you're there! 💡 safe driving beats a flash every time.
