IT’S FIRST TIME PASS THURSDAY TIME 🥇. Massive congratulations go to Sid in celebration of his PASS this morning at Haddington Driving Test Centre with only 2 driving faults.

When you first started driving with me your driving confidence wasn’t so great, so it was up to me to get all that behind you and have some fun doing it. You did the hard work gaining trust in your own ability to make decisions.

I distinctly remember your left hand positioning over the indicator stalk at the precise point a signal was needed but waiting, waiting waiting.
In the words of the great fictional philosopher & boxing coach, ‘Mickey Goldmill’ in the films Rocky I/II/III/V - “DO IT!”

Sid, a well deserved pass, it’s been a pleasure assisting you in your journey and meeting you and your family.

How do you pass a Driving Test?
ANSWER: (I had loads of answers)
Know what you’re doing, and be confident in your ability.

Eva, you kept me on my toes with your (TikTok related) questions, but you excelled in taking everything on board, having no fear and giving every challenge 100%. I should also say you were fully supported by your parents, you reported back what you had practiced and any challenges encountered.

Well done.

FINALLY: Just remember, when it comes to Reverse Bay Parking - ‘Everybody has got the choice between Hot Dogs & Hamburgers’ - choose one 🤠

I’ve been known to Get On My Bike from time to time cycling miles to work or just for fun. I’ve even cycled across Sheriffhall Roundabout many times but I don’t think I’d do this - No, No, Thrice No!

ITS A BIT ONE SIDED THIS DRIVING BEHAVIOUR. As an experienced driver I long ago accepted the FACT that sometimes people do stupid things (& occasionally it’s me). But, and it’s a big BUT, my Learners generally haven’t realised that Fact.
So when this happens it falls to me to deal with what can be a very traumatic experience (seriously not an exaggeration) for the learner sitting next to me.
“What the actual &@$ #, I could have killed them!”

I do realise that these guys don’t set out with a view to cause an accident, but come on - get a grip.
