Midweek check-in from Holltech 🤣🚗

We’re halfway through the week, the diary is doing diary things, Jay’s out keeping vehicles moving, and I’m behind the scenes trying to keep the chaos vaguely organised.

Also, tell us you work in the automotive industry without telling us you work in the automotive industry…

Random parts supplier cups and trade mugs slowly taking over the kitchen 😅

At this point, if it doesn’t say GSF, Delphi, Bosch or come free from a trade stand, do we even own it?

Real life couple-run business as always — one on the tools, one running the diary, both surrounded by car parts, admin and questionable amounts of branded drinkware 🤣

And don’t forget, if your car’s been sitting on your “I really need to sort that” list — servicing, diagnostics, brakes, wipers, odd noises or mystery warning lights — drop us a message and we’ll get you booked in.

Real life Holltech today 🚗🤣

Today’s little plot twist was a wrong part turning up on a job.

Before I was doing this side of the business, that would have meant Jay packing everything away, loading the van back up, driving round to suppliers himself, trying to source the correct part, then going back to the job — if the part was even available.

Now this is where I come in 👋

A few photos over to suppliers, a bit of part hunting, correct part sourced, collected and dropped straight back to Jay so he could carry on and we could avoid rebooking the job.

It still caused a delay, but nowhere near the delay it would have done before.

So sometimes when we’re running a little behind, this is why…

Not always because Jay’s spent too long chatting, despite what some of you may think 🤣

It’s not always as simple as “just fitting the part” — there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes juggling that goes into keeping the day moving.

One on the tools.
One running the chaos.
Both trying to keep Holltech moving 👊

Our tiny rebel, full-time chaos coordinator and professional barker-at-absolutely-nothing.

He’s feral, dramatic, adorable, completely convinced he runs the house, and has absolutely no respect for peace and quiet.

Life definitely wouldn’t be the same without him… although Donny may strongly disagree with that statement 🤣

Two years of Rolo chaos, attitude and dachshund drama — and somehow we still adore him.

What a day at the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event 🚗🔧
A proper works day out for us, with lots of learning, new ideas, and plenty of conversations about where Holltech is heading next.
We came away with so many ideas around systems, growth, customer experience and how we can keep improving what we do behind the scenes as well as out on the tools.
Also, always lovely to see The Norfolk Tech, JLK Vehicle Solutions and have a catch up — thank you for the shoutout, it means a lot 🖤
Big things are definitely in the pipeline… now to get the ideas out of our heads and into action 😅

Work day out today 🥳🚗

We’re off to the UK Garage & Bodyshop Event 2026 at the NEC.

Which basically means I’m being released from the office for the day 🤣

A day of tools, training, technology, suppliers, workshop ideas and probably Jay explaining things while I nod like I fully know what he means 😅

But honestly, this is the kind of stuff we love doing — learning what’s new, seeing what’s out there, and finding ways to keep improving Holltech behind the scenes.

Couple-run business day out… but make it cars, tools and trade badges 👊
