Spa-Francorchamps isn't just another race circuit—it's one of motorsport's greatest challenges.

Fast, flowing and unforgiving, its 4.35-mile layout climbs through the legendary Eau Rouge and Raidillon before plunging into a lap packed with sweeping corners, dramatic elevation changes and unpredictable Ardennes weather. For almost a century, one little house has watched motorsport history unfold from the edge of Eau Rouge.

Long before Formula 1, GT cars and Hypercars thundered through the Ardennes, this humble building stood overlooking one of the most famous stretches of tarmac in the world. It has witnessed the birth of the Belgian Grand Prix, the evolution of Spa-Francorchamps, countless legendary drivers, and generations of fans making the pilgrimage to the circuit. The original Spa-Francorchamps circuit first hosted racing in the early 1920s, and the famous Eau Rouge–Raidillon sequence evolved into its modern form in 1939.

While racing cars have become faster, louder and more sophisticated, that little house remains a timeless reminder that some things never change.

If walls could talk, this one would have a century of incredible stories to tell.

Walking around the McLaren stand at Goodwood, one thing immediately catches your eye...

A giant orange Kiwi.

It might seem a strange choice until you know the story.

Bruce McLaren was proudly New Zealand-born, and the Kiwi became the symbol of the team he founded. The original McLaren crest even featured a Kiwi before it evolved into today's famous "Speedmark." The papaya orange? That became one of the most recognisable colours in motorsport.

But every legend has to start somewhere...

Long before Formula 1 World Championships, Le Mans victories and road cars bearing his name, a 15-year-old Bruce McLaren rebuilt a battered 1929 Austin 7 Ulster with his father using second-hand parts. They increased its top speed from 72 mph to 87 mph, and when his father was unable to compete, Bruce secretly took the wheel in his place and won his very first event.

From a humble Austin 7 Ulster to one of the greatest names in motorsport.

6:30am at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The crowds haven't arrived. The paddock is quiet. Then the silence is broken...

The unmistakable sound of a 1937 Mercedes-Benz W125 Grand Prix car being brought to life.

Powered by a supercharged 5.6-litre straight-eight engine producing an astonishing 592 bhp, this pre-war monster was capable of around 200 mph—an almost unbelievable figure for a racing car built nearly 90 years ago.

Moments like this are what Goodwood is all about. Before the crowds, before the hill climb, just engineers, history and one of the greatest racing engines ever built.

🏁 A nod to the past, ready to race into the future.
For this weekend's British Grand Prix, McLaren have unveiled a stunning heritage-inspired livery that celebrates the team's incredible Formula 1 journey.
Replacing their familiar papaya colours with a predominantly white design, the livery pays tribute to the McLaren M2B—the car that marked the team's Formula 1 debut in 1966. It was also the season that founder Bruce McLaren scored the team's very first World Championship point at the British Grand Prix.
Nearly 60 years on, McLaren return to Silverstone as championship contenders, blending their rich history with a new era of success. Following the special colours worn for their 1000th Grand Prix in Monaco, this latest design is another reminder of how far the team has come while honouring where it all began.
