In the market for a seriously fast racing car? That could put in a time that would get onto the first few rows of a historic F1 grid? At just a fraction of the price of an F1?

The March 782 BMW F2 could be the answer. Incredible downforce, lightweight and a 300bhp BMW M12/7 engine make for a great all round package.

This example, chassis 782-11, was supplied new to Maublanc Racing Services for the Ecurie Univac European Formula 2 effort with Jean-Pierre Jarier, Jacques Laffite, Alain Couderc and Pierre Maublanc.

782-11 was featured in the Ecurie Univac press photos and driven by Couderc and Maublanc during 1978 while also being on hand as a spare for Jarier.

In recent times, 782-11 has been an overall race winner in the HSCC Derek Bell Trophy and multiple podium scorer in the Historic Formula 2 series.

As the engines fire up for the start of Modena Cento Ore this week, our minds spring to the 1972 De Tomaso Pantera Group 4/5 that is currently available with us.

Born as one of just 14 factory-built Group 4 competition cars, Chassis 02343 boasts incredible period racing history. It was entered in the 1972 Le Mans 24 Hours, raced by MOMO founder Gianpiero Moretti in the World Sportscar Championship, and later upgraded in 1976 to become the only factory Group 5 Pantera. It subsequently competed in the Giro d’Italia with then owner Ruggero Parpinelli.

Restored for historic racing in its Group 5 specification with a Peter Knight-built Gurney-Weslake V8 pushing ~500 bhp and Hewland LG500 gearbox. It is just the ticket to events like the Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic, and the Modena Cento Ore itself.

Spa Six Hours: the racer’s race 🇧🇪

For this year’s edition of the ultra competitive historic endurance race, Ben joined the line-up of a GT40 together with Stephan Jöbstl and Will Nuthall. Running with Michelotto, the GT40 was in the mix through the race and as the sun set, Ben took over the controls for the night stint.

An 8th overall finish was a welcome result with only minor issues raising their head during the fast-paced race.

The all Frazer Nash Jenks Trophy grid saw the largest collection of Nashes racing in one event ever in their history of over 100 years and Ben joined the Tula Racing squad with Tommy Waterfield in the Bugatti engined Nash to experience the occasion!

Goodwood Revival 2026!

YOB 575 returned to the Revival and was put through its paces in the Sussex Trophy with Ben and James Hanson joining forces to take P5 against a highly competitive field.

The ex- Denny Hulme works Brabham BT6 FJ was prominent within the Jack Brabham parades throughout the weekend with Megan Bruce at the helm celebrating a wonderful ambassador for the world of motorsport.

Ben’s other outings in the Richmond & Gordon and the Glover Trophy unfortunately didn’t yield the results they promised, after issues put pay to both charges having taken strong qualifications in both (P2/P4). The mighty BRM P261 was another to have its charge halted, with a puncture.

We also assisted with the showcase of the ex- Sid Taylor Lola MkIII in the parade too, which Sir Jack Brabham took to pole with Denny Hulme in the ‘67 BOAC 500 6 hour race at Brands Hatch.

Goodwood Revival is almost upon us and we can’t wait! The wonderful YOB 575, the ex- Peter Mould ‘58 Lister Jaguar ‘Knobbly’ will make its return to Goodwood in the Sussex Trophy with Ben and James Hanson at the wheel.

The original Lister, which took 32 awards from 39 starts in its early years, is no stranger to the circuit and is poised for a competitive run thanks to the Pearsons Engineering prep.

Come and take a look up close at the charismatic racing veteran in the main paddock and we look forward to seeing you there for some fantastic racing!
