Built the bed frame ✔️
Cut & primed the kitchen frame ✔️
Fitted reverse camera & monitor ✔️
Cut the side window apertures ✔️

It’s been another busy week at VanGoff Campers! But first, let’s revisit last week’s Peugeot Partner micro-camper, which went viral and sparked LOTS of questions.

YES, the bed is long enough! It extends over the folded-down passenger seat to create a generous 6ft 6in sleeping space.

YES, it’s tiny! But you can still sleep, sit and cook in it. Clever design makes every inch count.

And most importantly? It’s exactly what the customer wanted.

This week we’ve also:
Progressed the Vauxhall Movano full camper conversion ✔️
Removed all the rotten wood from a leaky shower (not one of our builds!)✔️
Carpet lined and fitted a rubber floor to a Ford Transit mobile workshop✔️
Completed layout design of our new showvan ✔️
Worked on the planning and layout of our new custom built workshop!✔️

This Peugeot Partner has been transformed into a compact micro camper for two people and a dog — proving that you don’t need a big van to enjoy campervan adventures.

The clever bench seating works as a comfortable lounge during the day, with plenty of under bed storage, and folds down into a double bed for two at night. The front passenger seat folds forward too, creating the extra length needed for a 6ft bed.

There’s plenty of storage in the birch ply laminate cupboards, plus a sink with running water on one side of the van. Opposite, a cosy book nook and clever lighting make this little space feel surprisingly homely.

The compact size of the Peugeot Partner makes it easy to drive and park, while still giving you everything you need for a simple weekend escape.

The interior is finished in Dulux Timeless, a soft, warm white that keeps the small space feeling light and welcoming.

A Peugeot Partner camper conversion for anyone who likes the idea of van life, but doesn’t want to drive a big campervan.

Which vans are the most popular to convert into campervans?

Choosing the right campervan base vehicle is one of the biggest decisions when planning a van conversion — and there’s no single van that’s right for everyone. Smaller are easier to park and manoeuvre but larger vans give you more space and comfort.

In this episode, Ben & Robin talk through some of the best and most popular vans for campervan coversions and two of the most popular choices are the Volkswagen Transporter (VW T5/T6/T6.1) and the Volkswagen Crafter.

But we convert them all and we’ve had both ends of the scale in the workshop this week - a just completed Peugeot Partner micro camper conversion and a much larger Vauxhall Movano, which is about to become its own bespoke campervan.

Campervan Questions Answered – Episode 9

Can a converted campervan be registered and insured in the UK?

Yes! 🙌🏼 It can as long as the conversion meets the relevant regulations and requirements, a converted campervan can be registered and insured in the UK.

Here at VanGoff Campers, we’re registered with who are happy to insure our conversions because we comply with the correct regulations and requirements.

So whether it’s a full bespoke conversion or a van you’re gradually turning into your own camper, getting it properly registered and insured is all part of the process.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Off-grid 12V/230V wiring, solar & lithium setups (Victron experience a plus)
• Pop-top roof fitting, structural cuts, skylights & bonded windows
• Auxiliary diesel heater & water system installs
• Electrical commissioning & fault-finding
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• Proven background in van conversions, auto electrics, or coachbuilding
• Confident metal cutting & structural bonding skills
• Relentless eye for clean cable management and weather-sealing
