On your 17th birthday you could easily sit and pass your driving theory test, there is no requirement for you to have sat in a car or even had a lesson!
So letβs assume you pass, you could then go on line and book yourself a driving test, remember you have never driven a car never had a lesson!
The theory test is NOT a thumbs up to book your driving test, itβs a theoretical aid to understanding, the rules of the road, understanding road markings, signs and etiquette!
If you study the theory test by just memorising answers and pass it, you have effectively wasted your time!
You need the knowledge from the theory study and the Highway Code to empower you, to help you make decisions when you are driving, in essence to keep you and those travelling with you safe, remember if you mess up, everyone in the car with you pays the price, including the innocent children who may be sitting in the back!
If you are someone who has passed their theory and still struggles with signs speed limits, road markings etc, then there is a good chance you will come unstuck on your test!
If you try and drive on roads by memory then again you will come unstuck!
Road signs and road markings are like having a silent driving instructor in the car, but only if you know what they mean and can apply them to the situation you are driving into!
The biggest boo boo for learners was the multiple choice theory test, learning answers is a waste of time, studying and understanding arms you far better for real life driving!
Remember the minute you sit behind the wheel of a car, you become responsible for the safety of everyone who travels with you, itβs your ability and knowledge that determines how safe the car is, whether you are 17 or 70 the burden of responsibility rests on the shoulders of the driver!
The road is a very dangerous place to be if you are unsure of anything ..
