Two Audis

Two AdBlue problems…

👀 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗱𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆… 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝘄𝗼!

This Audi A4 in Bristol had an AdBlue issue, but before deciding what needed doing, it was diagnostics first.

The process:
🔍 Diagnose the AdBlue system  ✔ Carry out the required resets and adaptations  🔧 Undertake the appropriate repair

The customer also had concerns about the DPF, so while I was connected I checked the DPF readings to get a better picture of what was happening there too.

An AdBlue warning might be what brings attention to the problem, but proper diagnostics help establish what’s actually going on.

90 Nm MORE TORQUE 😳

🚀 𝟵𝟬 𝗡𝗺 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵? 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗻... 😁

I was in Bristol for this very nice Abarth, which had already had some exhaust work carried out along with an induction kit.

We came along, tested the ECU and applied a Stage 1 remap.

The figures:
🔥 162 → 180 BHP 💪 230 → 320 Nm 📈 That’s a 90 Nm increase in torque

And with a small car like this, it’s the combination of that extra torque and the power-to-weight ratio that should make such a noticeable difference.

More response, stronger pull through the gears and a car that should feel completely transformed to drive.

I've seen too many of these connectors broken...

🔌 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻...

This Audi Q2 needed the ECU removing so I could carry out the work using bench method.

The connectors might look straightforward, but many have never been unplugged since the car left the factory.

Rushing them is where mistakes happen.

That’s why I always take my time.

✅ Protecting delicate connectors
✅ Bench programming using the correct method

Can you actually put too much AdBlue in your vehicle?

⚠️ 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝗱𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲?

The answer is... 𝘺𝘦𝘴.

This Audi Q2 developed an AdBlue fault after the system had been overfilled.

What makes AdBlue systems tricky is that every manufacturer is different.

❌ Some vehicles don’t like being overfilled.
❌ Others complain when the level gets too low.

That’s why I always start with diagnostics before replacing expensive parts.

✅ Vehicle diagnostics

✅ Working towards the right solution

Not every DPF problem starts with the DPF...

⚠️ 𝗔 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 - 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆.

This Ford Transit tipper truck came to me in Bristol with a DPF issue.

The first thing I found?

❌ The original vaporiser was completely blocked.

That had to be replaced before carrying out the DPF clean.

The lower clip shows the cleaning process in action, with vapour coming from the exhaust as the DPF is cleaned.

The important thing isn’t just cleaning the DPF.

It’s finding why the problem happened in the first place.

✅ Diagnostics first
✅ Fault repaired
✅ DPF cleaned
✅ Back to work

If your van or truck has a DPF warning light, keeps trying to regenerate or has gone into limp mode, don’t leave it until it gets worse.
