We've spent nearly two years following this car, from standing beside the extraordinary pink Type 00 to driving a camouflaged prototype at Gaydon and exploring the finished production version.

Now we can finally take you around it properly.

In our new film, we look beyond the photographs and arguments to discover what Jaguar has created. We are reserving judgment—and any firm criticism—until we've tested the finished car properly in a real-world driving environment. For now, we wanted to walk you through what Wayne first noticed about the production version and what he initially liked, rather than rush to a verdict.

⚡ **JAGUAR TYPE 01: THE TECHNICAL FILE**

You’ve seen the new Jaguar Type 01.

Now, let’s get underneath the skin.

From its 1,030PS tri-motor powertrain and 118kWh usable battery to active aerodynamics, intelligent torque vectoring and some extraordinary manufacturing solutions, the engineering behind Jaguar’s new GT is every bit as ambitious as its design.

We’ve picked out seven of the most important technical innovations and explained what they actually do — including:

Jaguar Type 01 is finally here — and after nearly two years following this car from the concept, through camouflaged prototypes, passenger rides, a drive at Gaydon and finally the production reveal, Wayne Scott has tried to answer the question behind all the noise:

❓❓IS THIS A PROPER JAGUAR?

There is far more going on here than the social media arguments suggest.

✅The “Impossible Panel” took more than 1,500 hours to engineer.

✅The battery is packaged to let occupants sit within the car rather than on top of it.

✅There’s a 1,030PS tri-motor drivetrain, active aero, all-wheel steering, clever rear-seat packaging and some extraordinary work hidden beneath those apparently simple surfaces.

✅ "The steering weight, the way the nose rises gently when all that performance arrives, the body control through fast bends and the way it can then settle back into a relaxed, comfortable gait all reminded me of why Jaguar’s old idea of “power in reserve” still works today. "

So, after seeing it, sitting in it, understanding the engineering and driving the prototype, we think there is a much more interesting story here than the comments section would have you believe.

🇧🇪 JEC UNDERCOVER IN BELGIUM! 🇧🇪

Someone has to do the difficult jobs… and this week that someone is Jaguar Enthusiast Magazine Sub-Editor Ray Ingman, currently on a highly secret JEC fact-finding mission in Belgium! 🕵️‍♂️🐆

Ray is out there representing the Jaguar Enthusiasts’ Club and helping to explore the possibilities for future Club tours, putting potential routes, hotels, venues and experiences through some very thorough real-world testing.

Working alongside our Club tour partners Scenic Car Tours, together with Backwater Classic Car Tours and Visit Wallonia, the mission is simple: find the ingredients for some truly memorable future adventures for JEC members.

And Ray has already made one particularly important discovery…

🏁 Driving around the legendary Spa-Francorchamps F1 circuit is an experience that’s very difficult to beat!

Judging by the pictures, this particular research assignment appears to be going rather well…
