🔍 When the obvious answer isn't the right answer…

This Vauxhall Corsa VXR came to us with a boost fault — and from the sound of it, a boost leak seemed like the obvious culprit.

It had even previously been diagnosed as a gasket leak. 🤔

But this is exactly why proper diagnostic procedures matter. Rather than throwing parts at it, we worked through the system methodically and eventually found a rather unlikely culprit…

👉 The rubber resonator on the end of the intake snorkel was restricting airflow.

Not the boost pipe.
Not the gasket.
Not a mysterious turbo problem.

Just a seemingly innocent piece of rubber causing a very real airflow restriction! 😳

It’s a great reminder that good diagnostics beat guesswork every time. You don't always find the fault where you'd expect it — sometimes you have to look at the whole system and understand what's actually happening.

Another VXR properly diagnosed and back to breathing as it should. 💨💪

🔧⚡ **Another hybrid diagnosis solved at Gotboost!**

This **CUPRA Formentor Hybrid** came to us with problems relating to the coolant system for the high-voltage EV battery — a fault that can be particularly challenging to diagnose without the right knowledge, training and equipment.

Using our specialist **EV training and diagnostic skills**, we worked methodically through the system and traced the issue to something far less obvious…

👉 **The fault was actually within the air-conditioning system, with refrigerant leaking into the EV battery coolant circuit.**

Not the kind of fault you find by simply plugging in a diagnostic tool and hoping for a code! 😎

Our EV training allowed us to understand how the different systems interact, identify the source of the contamination and get to the root cause rather than simply treating the symptoms.
