Today we had this cracking 90s Vauxhall Astra in with us for a timing belt replacement.

Working on something like this really makes you realise just how complicated modern cars have become! 😅

A nice straightforward job, following the Autodata specification and using the correct timing procedure. No drama, no over-complicated systems — just good old-fashioned mechanical work! 🔧

It’s always nice to see these older cars coming through the workshop. 👌

Adam’s been in having a go at servicing his own car and giving the brakes a fresh lick of paint, getting it all sorted ready for when he starts his driving lessons. 🚗💨

Another proper enthusiast’s car in with us today for an MOT and inspection. 🔵

This Focus RS Blue Edition is an absolute beauty, and the best bit… just 5,000 miles from new! 😍

It’s not often you see one in this condition and mileage. Got us wondering — will these eventually follow in the footsteps of the old RS models and become sought-after collectors’ cars?

We reckon there’s a good chance!

🔧 Another PSA wet belt kit in today!

This time it’s a Citroën C3 — and another example of why these engines need looking after properly.

The wet belts fitted across the Citroën, Peugeot & Vauxhall range have become well known for breaking down, particularly when servicing has been missed or the wrong/poor-quality oil has been used.

And when the belt starts to deteriorate, it doesn’t just disappear… bits of it can end up blocking the oil system and causing some serious engine damage! 😬

When we do these, we don’t just fit a new belt and send it out the door.

We strip and clean the oil system, remove and clean the timing solenoid and oil pump pickup gauze, then fit the new belt using all the correct timing tools and procedures.

It’s a bit more work, but it’s the right way to do the job. 👍
