We were initially called out to replace the clutch on this Ford Fiesta after the recovery company advised that was the fault.

However, on arrival we quickly discovered the issue was far more serious. The gear stick was completely stuck and no gears could be selected. After removing the gearbox, we found there was no gearbox oil remaining and the main shaft had seized solid.

The photos show the extent of the internal damage once the gearbox specialist stripped it down.
The gearbox was fully rebuilt using genuine internal components, fitted with a new clutch kit, and refilled with fresh gearbox oil. After reassembly and testing, this Fiesta was back on the road and running as it should.

Another happy customer and another vehicle saved! 🚗🔧

When I started MGI Autos, it was driven by one thing a genuine passion for cars. As many of you know, classic cars have always been a huge part of my life.

To make sure I never lose that passion, I've decided to take a step back from Saturday work for a while. This will give me the time to focus on our new home and finally make some progress on my own restoration projects (and trust me, there's a few of them waiting!).

From July through to September, MGI Autos will no longer be operating on Saturdays. Normal weekday services will continue as usual.

Thank you to all my customers for your continued support and understanding. Taking this time will help ensure I can keep bringing the same enthusiasm and quality of work to every vehicle that comes my way.

Now, it's time to get some of these projects finished! 🚗🔧

Running MGI Auto’s has always been about more than just the day-to-day work. In the background, my good friend Tom and I have been restoring a 1968 MK1 Ford Es**rt Estate and as everyone knows, I complete all work from a driveway, whether that’s mine or a customer’s! 🙌🏼

What started as a passion project has now received recognition from Classic Ford Magazine, and we’re incredibly proud to have landed an amazing 5-page feature in this month’s magazine 🎉

We have seen a moment in history 🙌🏼

Yesterday, Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird K3 took to the water, followed shortly after by Donald Campbell’s Bluebird K7 🎉

Not quite planing across the water just yet, but to witness these legendary machines back where they belong was something truly special. Hopefully over the coming days we’ll see even more as they continue their return to the water 💙

A day that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

Weather permitting 🌦️

Over 20,000 spectators are expected for what promises to be a truly historic moment 🙌

Here is a stunning 1/6 scale model built by Ernie Lazenby, proudly displayed at the event by Ian Lazenby.

Built using a miniature jet engine running on a mix of paraffin and motorcycle oil for lubrication, this incredible model reaches operating temperatures of around 800°C at full power 🔥

MGI Autos will be closed from Saturday 9th May and will reopen on Monday 18th May.
