Struggling to find a mechanic / garage that will take on big or odd jobs?
This is what we love to do. So please get in touch.
This Range Rover L405 4.4 V8 came in with suspected engine failure. We checked and found the metal in the oil, a major oil leak and that the crank shaft wasn't running true. The engine was sent to a engineering firm to see if it was possible to repair, but sadly it was too far gone.
After a bit of digging on the customers end they found the L322 shares the same heads, block and manifold.
A L322 engine was sourced and the big swap commenced. Both engines stripped bare, and the L322 4.4 tdv8 got a new lease of life. With new oil pump, oil cooler, egr cooler, sump and the list goes on.
After we got the engine in, up and running, we carried out an oil flush, a gearbox service and replaced both rear suspension airbags.
This job was an absolute mammoth task. But it's nice to see it finally come together.
