🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from Axel’s Garage! 🍁

As we celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU!

To our clients, fellow car enthusiasts, collectors, friends, and everyone who has supported Axel’s Garage, I am truly grateful.

For me, it has always been about more than just the cars. It’s about the people we meet, the stories we share, the history we preserve, and the memories we make along the way.

Every vehicle has a story, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to be part of so many of them.

From our garage to yours, wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with happiness, gratitude, and good company.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂

You guys know I’m a Javelin guy… 😎

A little while ago I came across an old-school Javelin racing jacket that I absolutely loved. Rather than just trying to find one, we decided to see if we could recreate the look through Total Team Threads. Total Team Threads

Well… it turned out pretty darn cool. ❤️🤍💙

We put together a small production run for fellow Javelin enthusiasts and the response was fantastic, 21 jackets sold before the production run even arrived.

And that got me thinking…

Why stop at Javelin?

If you belong to a car club, we can work with your group to create a completely custom club jacket: your colours, your logo, your history and your identity.

Mustang. Corvette. Camaro. Mopar. Pontiac. Hot rods. Imports. Local cruise clubs. It really doesn’t matter — the idea is to create something unique to your club, rather than simply putting a logo on an off-the-shelf jacket.

This is the kind of thing I love about the car hobby. Cars bring people together, and every club has its own story.

If your club has ever thought about doing something different for its members, send me a message through Axel’s Garage or reach out to Total Team Threads. We’d love to hear your ideas and see what we can create.

People. Stories. History. Legacy. Always a Good Ride.

Need a Judge for Your Next Car Show? 🏆🚗

I’m available to provide professional, independent judging for car shows, Show & Shines, and automotive events throughout Alberta.

As an accredited vehicle appraiser and lifelong automotive enthusiast, I approach every vehicle the same way, fairly, consistently, and with respect for the work, history, and passion behind each build.

If your club, organization, dealership, charity, or community is planning a car show and looking for an experienced independent judge, I’d be happy to talk.

I recently had the opportunity to inspect and appraise this stunning 1971 Datsun 240Z, owned by David Lee of Avant Garde Motor Sports in Edmonton.

What makes this car so interesting is not just how beautiful it looks, but how much of its original character appears to have survived.

Matching-number L24 engine. Period identification plates. Original-style interior details. Period glass markings. Original underbody finishes. Nissan-marked brake components. And an odometer showing just 3,968 miles.

The physical evidence throughout the car is remarkably consistent with a very low-use, highly preserved example.

The car does have a few sympathetic changes, including period-correct Fujitsubo headers and exhaust, an electric fuel pump, and WORK Equip 01 wheels with Yokohama tires.

A huge thank you to David Lee and Avant Garde Motor Sports for allowing Axel’s Garage the opportunity to inspect and document such a special piece of Japanese automotive history.

Today’s appraisal was this charming 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle Cabriolet! 🚙

These classic VWs have plenty of personality, but their values can vary significantly depending on condition, originality and restoration history. A current professional appraisal helps ensure your insurance coverage reflects what it would realistically cost to replace your vehicle.

Another great car, another great story—and Always a Good Ride!

Before the cover goes on for the winter, make sure your insurance coverage still matches what your classic is actually worth.

Collector vehicle values can change over time — especially after restorations, upgrades, repairs, or changes in the market. If your appraisal is a few years old, your current coverage may no longer reflect the true value of your vehicle.

An updated appraisal can help support the right insurance value and give you peace of mind before your car gets tucked away for the season.

Protect the car. Protect the investment. Know the value.
