The MyGig radio guy

The MyGig radio guy Mygig radio repairs, diagnosis, upgrades, sales and exchanges. Map, gracenotes and software updates. I provide repair services where chrysler falls short.

Located in Western Canada, I offer several Chrysler related radio repair services as well as an exchange program with refurbished units. Having experience with the mygig generation of radio going back as far as 2007 I have built a vast knowledge base far exceeding the support of the dealership. Ship your radio to me from anywhere in Canada or bring it in person if you're local to the Edmonton area. If you bring your vehicle I can remove and install the unit for a small fee.

A quick note that shipping typically happens on Monday’s and Thursday’s. This Monday is of course a long weekend so I’ll probably do shipping on Tuesday and Friday, then back to the normal schedule.

Do you have an 8.4 radio stuck in a USB update reboot loop or can’t unlock maps. I can fix that.

We are still here. Most of the radios I receive for repair come in the mail but lots are dropped of in person. Shipping over to Europe has had some trouble, but within North America there hasn't really been an upset.

I traditionally don't sell parts by themselves, as I've always been a repair only service, but I will be listing some surplus parts. Some items just collect due to sheer numbers and how many radio k***s do people need. these will be user serviceable parts and nothing like circuit board components. It will be things like buttons, k***s, ribbon cables, faceplates etc.

A few radios have aged out to a certain degree. The REN which is a non-nav radio was last produced in 2010 and I dont actively stock it or seek out parts to repair it. The same applies to the RER as it was last produced in large numbers in 2010 and dropped down to 1/6th of that by 2011 and then it was finished by 2012. I do still repair that model but resources for certain parts are not as available as they used to be. RHR and RHB navs are much newer and I still repair them and they still get software updates. 8.4 inch radios are all actively repaired.

Some things fail and create irrecoverable damage or damage that becomes too costly to repair. You never know what youre going to find until you tear it down and even then you don't know if it can be fixed until you try. Maybe you see one bad component but it wiped out a dozen others that have no obvious issue. This makes it difficult to diagnose over the phone or thru messages. Answering the question "whats that going to cost" is pretty hard to do.

FAQs that I get. One of ones that comes up the most is “what can i put in for an aftermarket NAV deck”. Well
First, that’s not what I’m offering in any capacity. Second, you’ll spend all kinds of money buying a bezel adapter, 2-3 different antennas or adapters, main harness adapter, steering wheel control adapter kit, can bus module etc. All before you buy a head unit. Average cost runs about 1200 before you ever add labor to install it all. Replacing or repairing your existing deck is still the least complicated route to go.

Do NOT ship to me via DHL or LOOMIS. They are dropping "signature required" parcels without getting the signature or giving custody of the parcel to an actual person. They're just dropping them on the ground in front of the door for all to see.
