As full-time RVers, we love the freedom of being able to live off-grid, and our obsession with solar started with our own build. 🚐⚡

Neil tackled our install over 6 days, adding 14 panels to our roof and all the fun gadgets to power our home. 😍

Here’s what we’ve got 👇

⚡ Victron Lynx Distributor and Lynx SmartShunt
⚡ Victron on Energy 50A DC-to-DC charger
⚡ Two Victron MultiPlus-II 2x120 24V, wired in parallel
⚡ Cerbo GX

We also added six 400W Renogy suitcase panels, ’cause in our opinion: you can never have too much power. ☀️💪

That gives us a total of 5,500W of solar — 3,100W on the roof + 2,400W on the ground! 🤯☀️⚡

🔧 Today’s upgrade: MaxxAir Vent Fan!

Neil’s swapping out an old RV vent fan for an upgraded Maxxfan Plus — better airflow, better ventilation, and a nice little upgrade for those hot summer days. ☀️💨

☀️ A little peek at a recently completed Wander More solar upgrade!

This 30' travel trailer came to us with 200 watts of solar and two 12V lead-acid batteries.

The problem? When camping without hookups their batteries were dying overnight just trying to keep the 12V fridge and other 12V components running. 😩

They were tired of waking up to dead batteries and a warm fridge... so they came to us for help!

🔧 Here's what we did:

☀️ Removed the existing panels and installed three 200W Maple Leaf solar panels — tripling their solar capacity to 600W!

🛠️ Reinforced the pass-through wall and floor for proper, secure equipment mounting

🔋 Replaced the two lead-acid batteries with one 12V 410Ah LiFePO4 Redodo battery

⚡ Upgraded the factory charge controller to a Victron 100/50 MPPT Solar Charge Controller

⚡ Installed a Victron Lynx Distributor and Victron 500A SmartShunt

And while we were on the roof, we noticed the front cap transition strip needed a little attention. We cleaned it up and refreshed the sealant to help prevent future leaks. 💧

The result? 🙌
☀️ 3X the solar capacity
🔋 Significantly more battery capacity
⚡ A properly upgraded and monitored 12V electrical system
😎 No more waking up to dead batteries and a warm fridge!

💧 Is your RV roof protecting you... or hiding a leak?

Your RV's roof sealant won't last forever. Sun, rain, and changing temperatures eventually cause it to crack and separate, allowing water to sneak in.

We recommend inspecting your roof every 3–6 months and resealing it when needed. A simple reseal today can help prevent thousands of dollars in water damage tomorrow.
