Once a part is removed, there’s an opportunity to inspect the surrounding system: mounting points, connections, wear patterns and anything else that could have contributed to the failure.

Replacing the obvious problem is one thing. Understanding what caused it is where good mechanical work really begins.

Diagnostic equipment can identify fault codes and provide live information from different vehicle systems, but a code isn’t automatically a diagnosis.

The real work is combining what the computer is reporting with testing, inspection and experience before deciding what actually needs to be repaired.
