A good vehicle inspection involves much more than checking whether something is simply "good" or "bad”. The technicians at The Mufflerman look for wear patterns, leaks, corrosion, fluid condition and changes that could indicate a developing issue. Catching something early can often give you more time to plan a repair instead of dealing with an unexpected breakdown. Good maintenance starts with understanding what your vehicle is telling you.

Brake pads aren't the only part of your braking system that wears. Brake rotors can develop grooves, rust, uneven surfaces or thickness variations that affect how smoothly your vehicle stops. Calipers can also begin sticking, causing one brake pad to wear considerably faster than another. If your vehicle pulls, vibrates or makes unusual noises when braking, having the entire brake system inspected can help identify the actual cause.

Did you know tire pressure can drop as outdoor temperatures fall?
As the air gets colder, the pressure inside your tires decreases. That means a tire that was properly inflated during warmer September weather may be underinflated by the time cooler October temperatures arrive.
Check your tire pressure when the tires are cold and use the pressure listed on the vehicle’s door placard, not the maximum pressure printed on the tire itself.

Your oil may still look relatively clean and still be ready for replacement. Engine oil gradually loses the additives that help control heat, prevent deposits and protect internal engine components. Short trips can be especially hard on oil because the engine may not stay hot long enough to evaporate accumulated moisture and fuel vapour. Following the oil change interval recommended for your vehicle and driving habits can help protect your engine over the long term.
