A poor manβs wife once told me:
βIf the food is small, just put plenty of paper around it. The children will drink plenty of water and their stomachs will feel full. It helps to keep peace in the house.β π
I thought she was jokingβ¦ until one evening. π
The food was small, and one of the children started crying while still eating:
βMummy, Iβm still hungry!β π
The mother quietly brought out a 4-litre container of water and said:
βMy child, drink.β π
The child drankβ¦ and drankβ¦ and drankβ¦
Before long, the tears stopped.
He rubbed his stomach and said:
βMummy, Iβm satisfied.β ππ
Five minutes later, he was sleeping like somebody who just finished a Christmas party.
The mother looked at her husband and whispered:
βYou see? Peace has returned to the house.β π€£
But now I have one serious question:
Is this a parenting strategyβ¦ or a survival strategy? π
π Be honest: If you were the child, would you drink the 4 litres or continue asking for food?
