Your door closer is part of your security system.

If the door closes too quickly, it can place repeated stress on the frame, latch and lock hardware. If it closes too slowly or stops short, the latch may never engage.

A properly adjusted commercial door should close at a controlled speed and lock without anyone needing to push it.

Does your door slam, drift or remain slightly open? Call Calgary Lock & Safe at 403 250 5698 or visit calgarylockandsafe.com to have the complete opening inspected.

A small door problem can quickly become a lock problem.

Loose hardware, an uneven door gap or a latch that repeatedly hits the strike plate creates unnecessary stress every time the door is used. Eventually, the lock may stop working or the door may no longer secure properly.

If you’ve noticed scraping, sticking or changes in how the door closes, deal with it early.

Call Calgary Lock & Safe to have the door and locking hardware assessed before the damage spreads.

Do you need new locks, or do you simply need new keys?

If the existing hardware is still working properly, rekeying can prevent old keys from operating the lock without replacing the entire unit. Replacement is usually the better option when the hardware is damaged, heavily worn or no longer meets the property’s security needs.

The right solution depends on the condition of the lock, the door and who should have access.

Before replacing more than necessary, call Calgary Lock & Safe at 403 250 5698 or visit calgarylockandsafe.com for a professional assessment.

Not every security change requires completely new hardware.

If the existing lock is still in good condition, rekeying may be enough to prevent old keys from working. Replacement may be the better option when the hardware is damaged, heavily worn or no longer meets the needs of the property.

The right answer depends on the door, the condition of the hardware and who needs access.

Call Calgary Lock & Safe for a professional recommendation before replacing hardware you may not need to replace.

Keys usually show signs of wear before they break.

Look for bending, cracks, worn teeth or a key that suddenly needs to be wiggled before it turns. Continuing to force a damaged key can leave it broken inside the lock and turn a simple replacement into a larger service call.

Take a closer look at the keys your business uses every day. If one looks worn or feels different, call Calgary Lock & Safe before it breaks.

Does your commercial door need an extra push before it locks?

Scraping, sticking or bouncing back open usually means something in the opening is no longer lining up correctly. Every forced close puts more pressure on the latch, strike plate and lock hardware.

A door that looks closed is not necessarily secure. If it does not latch smoothly every time, it is worth having the entire opening inspected.

Call Calgary Lock & Safe at 403 250 5698 or visit calgarylockandsafe.com to request service.

A lock that suddenly feels stiff is giving you an early warning.

Moisture, internal wear, dirt or pressure from a misaligned door can all make a lock more difficult to operate. Forcing the key could damage the cylinder or leave part of the key stuck inside.

If your lock no longer feels smooth, stop forcing it. Call Calgary Lock & Safe and have it checked before a small problem becomes a lockout.

If your door needs an extra push before it locks, something isn’t working properly.

A misaligned door can prevent the latch from engaging and place unnecessary pressure on the lock and surrounding hardware. What starts as a small alignment issue can eventually leave the door unable to secure properly.

Don’t wait until the door stops locking altogether. Call Calgary Lock & Safe to have the door and hardware professionally assessed.

When an access control system fails randomly, it's tempting to assume the whole thing needs replacing. Usually it doesn't. Most repeat failures trace back to one of three things: a weak power supply, worn-out credentials, or a door that's slightly out of alignment and putting strain on the strike or maglock every time it closes. Diagnosing the actual layer that failed is almost always cheaper than a full system swap.

Access control acting up? We diagnose before we quote — ask us what's actually wrong.
