Sometimes, home rebuilds don’t always save you money. This YZ250F came in seized after attempting a top end. We assume the gudgeon pin clip has come loose causing the piston to break. Unfortunately this has now caused damage to the crankshaft, barrel and head.

How unlucky would you have to be, to get a major puncture, on a Saturday afternoon, 15 minutes after closing.. Well it turns out, AL is pretty lucky! Because he managed this complete failure 500m from the shop and I was still there! New set of Michelin Road 6’s fitted and he was back on his way!

Sydney Performance Motorcycles at Taren Point are currently offering a fantastic opportunity to enter the motorcycle industry. The current position is aimed at former Year 10-12 students looking to start work immediately. This position will be a 4 year apprenticeship, starting in the new year.
The successful candidate is expected to be polite, mechanically minded and 110% committed to a career as a motorcycle mechanic. The position will require a driver and riders licence.
Tafe training will be provided at Ultimo in the Certificate 3, Automotive Mechanical Engineering – Motorcycle courses.
You will:
• Hold a current motorcycle drivers licence
• Have capacity to work in Australia
• Be punctial, reliable and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities include:
• Servicing and repairing various motorcycle makes
• Tyre fitting and balancing.
• Ensuring workshop safety is maintained including maintaining a clean and tidy workstation. Test ride motorcycles adhering to company guidelines.
• Perform scheduled services, test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.
• Completion of job card for all duties completed.
• Availability to work Saturdays.
• Other duties as required.

Today, we sadly said goodbye to our dear friend Jenny. For the past 17 years, Jenny has worked as our bookkeeper to untangle the mess that we sometimes present her. She was always there for a chat when we needed her, wheather it was business or personal.
For the past 7 months, Jenny had strongly fought stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. Last week she sadly lost that battle.
I am honoured to have known you and lucky to have called you my friend. You will be sorely missed.

It is almost that time of the year! Which means that the boys will be having a much needed break. This year, I will be taking the public holidays off but I will be around for tyres and pink slips on the following days:

Sunday 21st: Closed
Monday 22nd: Open
Tuesday 23rd: Closed
Wednesday 24th: Open for that last minute tyre or Gift voucher!
Thursday 25th to Sunday 28th: Closed
Monday 29th to Wednesday 31st: Open
Thursday 1st: Closed
Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd for tyres and pink slips.
Monday 5th: Business as usual!

We would like to thank all of our wonderful customers and hope to see you all next year. So from Adrian, Luke, Henry, Ben, Omkar, Munira and myself, Merry Christmas and safe riding.
