When the smallest parts cause the biggest problems. This R1 came in intermittently running rich and stalling out at the traffic lights, an ECU scan showed up with no faults, live engine data testing on the dyno struggled to find the root cause, so out of pure frustration, we removed the airbox and throttle bodies just to have good look around, and there is was, the vacuum line to the map sensor had rubbed through on part of the wiring loom. A $2.00 hose can be all it takes sometimes.

A solid day's in the shop looking after some amazing bikes.
The BMW S1000RR in for a logbook service and having the rear brakes sorted so its ready for a huge roadtrip.
The GSXR 750 is having some electrical gremlins sorted out so the starter circuit behaves itself, and that glorious Nitron Suspension is getting serviced.
And the KTM 1190 Adventure in having the mother of all major services after 60,000km of on and off roading to make sure it'll do another 60,000 reliable kilometres.

This is very sad news to hear of the loss of the great Jan Blizzard. She's been the driving force behind New South Wales Road Racing for as long as we've been involved in the sport, and it just won't be the same without her.

Motorcycling Australia is extremely saddened to hear the passing of Jan Blizzard, who gave tirelessly to the cause of motorcycle racing as an official and administrator for seven decades.

That dedication saw the Loftus (NSW) resident awarded an OAM in the King's Birthday Honours list in 2023 in recognition of her years of service, which included marathon stints as president and secretary of the St George Motorcycle Club.

She held the secretary’s role at St George for a remarkable 60 years, touching the lives of so many motorcycle riders during a massive period of growth for the sport. Unsurprisngly, she passes as a life member of the club.

Jan’s motorcycle racing activities also extended to officiating, and she was an ever-present sight at race meetings across NSW, including at Bathurst, Amaroo Park, Oran Park and Nepean – with a constant smile despite the race-day pressures.

Jan’s late husband, Arthur Blizzard, also poured his heart and soul into motorcycle racing as the boss of the then ACU of NSW. Two legends who leave a rich legacy.

This 2015 Yamaha R1 has done itself a bit of a mischief after a solid life as a race and trackday weapon, an inlet valve spring finally yelled "enough" and decided to give up. But considering what the levels of destruction could have been, this engine has gotten off pretty lightly, with only a nick in the piston, a bent valve and a cracked valve guide. A full top end rebuild, and an upgrade to the later model R1 valve springs, and it'll be terrorising the track again in no time.

This super cool BMW R65 Custom build, on the bench for a service and a carburettor rebuild. A little bit of time and love to get the carburettor balance just right, and it's purring like a big kitten again.Such great style for such a simple machine.

Last bit of work for the week, this beautiful mild custom Triumph T120 Bonnieville. The customer asked if we could make the bike handle as good as it looks, so we gave it the full Nitron Suspension treatment. 22mm TVT fork cartridge kits, and the fully adjustable Nitron R2 piggyback rear shocks. All the great looks of a tasteful custom, with the advantages of great suspension for the ultimate ride.
