Track day prep for the s2k meant first addressing a common failure point of the first gen f20c engine which is the weak valve spring retainers, swapped out with ap2 items and changing to viton stem seals in the process to prepare for future use of e85.
P2r thermal intake manifold gasket fitted ✅
Customized our own oil cooler assembly using lines, fittings and sandwich plate mated to a core. ✅
Refreshed valve cover thanks to to finish off. ✅

A health check was on order for this 09 BMW 135i, a few leaks and wear points were noted from the upper radiator hose junction and valve cover gasket.
The A/C was also inoperable and we found there to be an electrical fault on the LIN bus which was causing the whole system to drop communication.., a burnt connection on one of the HVAC motors being the culprit.
We also calibrated the steering angle sensor after the battery was replaced by a third party ✅✅

A successful first night out for the S2000 & for myself after a 10 year track hiatus albeit a little rusty. Best time recorded on the night was a 1:52.2 with an optimal of 1:51.6 🏁 Looking forward to making some adjustments and heading into the 40’s. The footage was one of the cleaner traffic free runs under lights 👌🏻

2017 VW Golf R in for a logbook service 🔧 upon inspection a few items were found to be in need of a freshen up.
-Poor coolant concentration ❌
Flushed & cleaned cooling system & replenished with fresh coolant ✅
-PCV found to be working inefficiently causing oil leaks❌
Removed and replaced PCV ✅
-Oil leaks from the upper timing case & cam magnet seals❌
Removed timing case and replaced required rubber seals ✅

The F136 engine, classic Italian engineering, an engine shared between the Ferrari F430 and the Maserati GranSport with variations between platforms. This one, in Maserati form, sprung a minor oil leak from the off-side bank valve cover so we went ahead and removed and replaced the gaskets required. ✅✅
