‼️ 2013 200 SERIES ‼️

137k on the clock. Customer purchased 5000km ago from a car yard, asked all the right questions and was given paperwork to show recent work had been done including injector and egr cooler replacement. Customer was assured it was a healthy well performing vehicle.
Shortly after purchase the owner noticed an injector knock. He returned to the car yard and to the other mechanic that did the recent work with his concerns where the vehicle was inspected again - and again he was assured the vehicle is all within spec.

Then he came to us for an independent inspection.

This is what we found 👇🏼

❌ Injector readings WAY out of spec
❌ Dusting past the airbox and through the intake pipes causing inevitable passenger side turbo damage
❌ Compression test failed with cylinder 8 returning 260psi!

Vehicle needs a new engine, turbos and the condition of all other engine components inspected before reinstall. Easily 40-45K!

Unfortunately these kind of horror stories are becoming more and more common.

Our best advice is ALWAYS see a diesel specialist for a thorough inspection before purchasing a second hand vehicle.

We work on the diesel Toyota platform all day everyday - a proper inspection can be the difference between buying your dream 4WD or inheriting someone else’s problem!

This customer drove from QLD for the Tune Works touch!

Behind the scenes we fitted a G333, powerpipe and airbox. Upgraded to a 1600nm clutch kit and it was back on the dyno for our multimapping.

Solid package making a big difference with a focus on driveability, response and reliability.

And the hardcut sounds sick too 😈
