Last installment this weekend of seat upholstery on the POV CL buckets we are resurrecting for the VG Pacer hardtop project

After a bit of a nervous start on the buckets we finished the day with both base covers done, with the passenger installed on the base and the drivers yet to be done

The back rest part of the seat has a lot of paneling so will be next weekends job

A pleasing result. Looking Pacer- esque.

As previously mentioned the tilt mech will utilise ute latch mechs. See pics. Big thx to PJ for sending them over. Awesome quality. 👍

Once the backs are done the interior install will begin in earnest

Another day learning new skills

Got the rear of the back seat sewn up today

Had a couple of false starts with some panel pieces as the original top seat skirt had perished away from sun damage. 🙄🙄🙄

Pacer inspired and actually pretty good to sit on. 😀😀😀

Tomorrow will geta bit hectic as we will start the front buckets

Expecting it to be fairly challenging

Only way to get it done is to start💪

Have a ripper Saturday night. Bit freakin cold here in Perth WA😜

Picked up the hardtop last night from Mettams in Malaga

We ran with a 2.5 inch system flanged off the extractors

Went with a chambered and glass pack muffler

Pleased with the results.

A totally TAVO weekend😜

As you know we are a bit of a fan of “giving it a go”

We have now started on doing our own upholstery on the VG Hardtop Pacer tribute.

Wow, steep learning curve to say the least

Spent Saturday setting up the walking foot machine we picked up from a garage sale 6 mths ago

Also did a few test pieces to work out how to sew a straight line and understand how much foam is needed in the seat area. We settled on 20mm

Started the day thinking we might just keep practicing, but where’s the fun in that. Worst case it is just a monumental stuff up.

So, kicked off the base panel, seemed to go ok. Nearly looks right. 😳

Then the side panels😳

Went together as hoped

No piping nothing fancy, but ended up with a passable base seat cover

Last pick shows it in place😀

Big thanks to wifey explaining how the panelling works. My brain couldn’t brain it. 😜😜😜

If you are thinking about having a go would encourage it

YouTube is definitely your friend

The heavy lifting will be the buckets (converting some pov CLs with a ute clip for tilt)

Slow going today🙄

Trying to remember rear glass window setup. Only went nowhere then a google A Body assembly pic saved the day. Thanks the stars. Nearly lost it😜

Rear quarter glass installed✅
Bailey seal installed✅
Actually works well✅
Actually aligned ✅
Front drivers window and mech✅
Door mechs etc✅
Door Bailey seals installed✅
All door seals drivers installed✅
Front A pillar cover installed✅
Windscreen trim✅
