🎶MASSIVE celebration today🎉 - she is back together and running beautifully!
This was a massive 8 hour day, pulled together with the help of Shea Horton Victoria
Driveshafts back in, all lines tightened in to their final position, oil cooler pressure checked, exhaust manifold back on, and a whole bunch more.
On fuel prime the fuel rail was leaking quite severely - which narrowed down to the banjo fitting by the fuel pulse dampener. Unfortunately, the fuel pulse dampener had damaged threads so was not sitting correctly. This and a bad banjo washer led to a big headache in trying to find an aptly sized washer and a undamaged pulse dampener on extremely short notice.
Thankfully, after nearly 40 minutes of searching through the various wrecks - we found that the fuel dampener on our 88’ CRX is exactly the same and was also in pristine working condition!
The motor runs BEAUTIFULLY now. With VTEC kicking in strong once more, and suspension feeling tighter than ever.
UNFORTUNATELY - it looks like the diaphragm in the OEM brake booster is seized solid. So the brakes are currently unboosted. We’ll be on the phone with the lads at veales tomorrow to see if we can sort one before race day on Sunday!
