Geelong Racing Club Regional city racecourse in Victoria, hosting 27 race days including the Geelong Cup event

Geelong Racecourse is one of the most important regional racecourses in Victoria, holding more than 25 meetings each year. While the current track was opened in 1908, there have been horse races in Geelong dating back into the 1840s. The most important race at Geelong Racecourse is the 2400 metre Group 3 Geelong Cup. This race draws many of Australia’s and some of the world’s best horses, who are

all looking to earn themselves a spot in the Melbourne Cup field. Among those to have completed the Geelong/Melbourne Cup double, include Irish stayer Media Puzzle (2002), French horse Americain (2010), and fellow French stayer Dunaden completed the Geelong/Melbourne Cups double in 2011. The Geelong Racing Club is also available for non-race day events, with some wonderful facilities to choose from. The Club is only a short distance from the City and with plenty of FREE parking available.

Some race days are about the racing. This one is about community.

In just a few weeks, Geelong Racing Club will proudly host the annual Right Mate Race Day; a day that brings our community together behind a great cause: men's mental health.

Right Mate was founded on a simple but powerful belief: no one should have to face life's challenges alone. Through events, conversations, and direct community support, they are creating spaces where men feel comfortable speaking up, connecting, and seeking help when they need it most.

The funds raised on the day help Right Mate continue this vital work, supporting local individuals and families, subsidising community programs, and ensuring those doing it tough know they have a network behind them.

Guests can enjoy a fantastic day of racing, a two-course lunch, live auctions, raffles, and inspiring guest speakers sharing their experiences and insights around mental health. What makes this event truly special is knowing that every ticket purchased and every conversation started contributes to something far bigger than a day at the races.
