Greyhound racing is still an amateur sport in most countries and the race events are just for entertainment pur

poses. However, in some countries like the United States, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and the U.K., the sport is a favorite for punters even though it is not in the same league as horse racing. A strong greyhound adoption movement in Australia and other countries that have strong greyhound racing industry help to rehabilitate retiring dogs by placing them into homes as pets.

Sunday racing is back at Winnellie Park and this one is short, sharp and perfect for an easy end to the weekend!

We’ve got five races on the card, with the lids flying for Race 1 at 6:35pm and the final race jumping at 7:55pm — plenty of action, dinner sorted and still home early enough to get the kids into bed before Monday rolls around.

We have some beautiful greyhounds ready to swap racing life for couches, cuddles and their next adventure. ❤️

🐾 CHEVY – Fundora
A big, strong brindle boy with a gentle side. Chevy is good with older kids and big dogs and, once settled, is a lovely boy. He may be happiest as the only dog or sharing his home with just one canine mate.

💧 VIPER – Hyper Viper
An affectionate girl who loves people — and water! Viper is still learning her manners and can get a little overexcited during play, so she’ll need the right home to help her settle into pet life. Best suited to a home without young children and potentially as an only pet.

🖤 SCARLETT – Bowhunter
Scarlett loves people and has plenty of personality! She can be reactive around other dogs and is a strong girl, so she’ll need an experienced and understanding home. Scarlett has pannus and requires inexpensive ongoing eye drops.

💙 BLUE – Here Comes Blue
This gorgeous blue boy is affectionate, great with other greyhounds and has previously lived around young children. He’s a big softie with a big bark when someone approaches the yard! Blue is unlikely to suit a home with cats.

🌹 ROSE – Enigma Rose
Freshly retired, quirky and super affectionate! Rose is great with people and dogs, and her litter siblings have also done well with cats, so she may have potential for the right cat household following assessment. Photos coming soon!

🏁🐾 Tuesday Night Racing Delivers at Winnellie Park!

Another nine-race card is done and dusted, with some cracking finishes, plenty of kennel success and a couple of very healthy returns along the way! 💰

🐾 Race 1 – SBA Office National Dash (312m) saw Celsius get the night underway for Ronald Phillips in 17.91. Zara’s Secret for Steele Bolton was second in 18.23, with Bluey Baby, also for Steele Bolton, third in 18.49.

🐾 Race 2 – Hyland Sportswear Dash (383m) produced a great result for Rob Brown, with Kelmar Boss getting home in 22.33 and providing a healthy return! Trust Me for Andrew Lasker was second in 22.39, with Simon Nathanael’s Extra Pineapple third in 22.42.

🐾 Race 3 – Sign City Dash (312m) went the way of Here Comes Foxy for Alesha Shepard in 18.21. Control Bubba for Steele Bolton finished second in 18.46, just ahead of Rob Brown’s Dirty Dancing in 18.47.

🐾 Race 4 – Winning Edge Sprint (537m) saw Steele Bolton prepare the quinella, with Bing Bing Secret winning in 31.31 ahead of Bing Bing Slayer in 31.56. All About Jake for Adam Poulter was right there in third in 31.58.

🐾 Race 5 – Old Mates Bakery Dash (383m) was another for the Steele Bolton kennel, with Enigma Go winning in 22.26. Brave Ember for Ronald Phillips and Ritza Duane for Steele Bolton couldn’t be separated for second, both stopping the clock at 22.43.

🐾 Race 6 – KNL Fire Solutions Dash (383m) gave Steele Bolton back-to-back wins, with Enigma Outlaw taking it out in 22.30. Mister Easy for Kathleen Reynolds was second in 22.45, with Ronald Phillips’ Bastianini third in 22.50.

💰 Race 7 – BTC Constructions Dash (312m) produced the result of the night! Chronic got the job done for Ronald Phillips in 18.05 and delivered a very healthy return. Flip Your Fifty for Andrew Lasker was second in 18.12, with Ronald Phillips’ Willow’s Witch third in 18.13.

🐾 Race 8 – Asian-United Food Service Dash (312m) saw Northern Lioness make it another win for Ronald Phillips, clocking 17.92. Kennelmate Perpetuus was second in 18.06, while Adam Poulter’s Son Of Minya finished third in 18.28.

🐾 Race 9 – Arafura Catering Equipment Dash (312m) closed the night with Hooray Carter saluting for Rob Brown in 18.17. Territory Girl and Territory Tuff, both for Alesha Shepard, filled the minor placings in 18.32 and 18.41.

🏁 PREMIERSHIP SHAKE-UP AHEAD OF TONIGHT’S RACING! 🐾🔥

The 2026 Premiership standings have had another shuffle — and there’s a big move in the Greyhound of the Year race as we head into Tuesday night racing at Winnellie Park!

🏆 Trainer of the Year
Steele Bolton continues to lead the way on 112, while Ronnie Phillips has moved to 52, ahead of Adam Poulter on 47. Rob Brown sits on 41 with Kathleen Reynolds on 18.

🏠 Owner of the Year
Adam Poulter holds the lead on 41, followed by Dale Baker on 30 and Ol’ Brown Dogs on 29. Phill Brittain sits on 26, with Dale Kelly now into the top five on 23.

🐕 Greyhound of the Year
Brittain On Fire remains the one to catch on 234 points, but there’s been a change behind!

🔥 Brave Ember has jumped into SECOND on 194 points, moving four points clear of Stan’s Dream on 190. Zero Control sits fourth on 174, with So Naive rounding out the top five on 134.

Plenty more points are up for grabs TONIGHT — who’ll make the next move? 👀
