HB Concrete Outback Sprintcar Series and Championship Round Recap
OPEN SPRINTCARS — Round 1 | Proudly Sponsored by Xtreme Garden Care
Time Trials saw Christopher Harrison set quick time, before taking out Heat 1 ahead of Angus Campbell by 1.5 seconds over 10 laps.
The Dash saw Angus Campbell turn it around to take the win, with Matthew Sealy in second and Daniel Goldoni rounding out the top three.
When it mattered in the 20-lap Feature, Hayden Brown got the job done to claim the win, with Christopher Harrison just 1.042 seconds behind at the flag and Matthew Sealy in third. Angus Campbell came home in fourth with Zack Grimshaw rounding out the top five.
STREET STOCKS
Jake Koivumaki was the man to beat all night, taking wins in all three heats ahead of a consistent field. Russel Gunn was a regular presence in second, with Jayke Budd also featuring strongly across the heats.
In the 15-lap Feature, Koivumaki converted that heat race form into the win, crossing the line 7.395 seconds ahead of Russel Gunn in second. Jayke Budd rounded out the podium in third, with Michelle Gill in fourth.
WINGLESS SPRINTS
Kyle Wiseman was the standout performer of the night, taking wins in Heat 2 and Heat 3 after Cameron Jaenke got the jump in Heat 1. With a big field of 11 competitors, the racing was competitive throughout all three heats.
In the 20-lap Feature, Wiseman backed it up where it mattered, taking the win ahead of Jamie McInnes by just over 2 seconds. Cameron Jaenke rounded out the podium in third, with Mathew McLennan in fourth and Ty Ede in fifth.
JUNIOR SEDANS
With a big field of young competitors taking to the track, the Junior Sedans delivered plenty of action across both heats. Riley King took out Heat 1 ahead of Kade Beurskens and Brock Beurskens, while Heat 2 saw Caiden Weaver get the win in a tight battle with Riley King and Brody Ling separated by just over a second.
The 15-lap Feature, however, was a tough one with a number of competitors unable to make the finish. When the dust settled it was Ryder Morgado who took the win, with Brock Beurskens just 0.6 seconds behind at the flag in second. Tommy Harte rounded out the podium in third, with Kaleb Beurskens in fourth. It was a big field of young talent out there and we wish a speedy recovery to all those who had a tough night.
AMCA NATIONALS
A strong field took to the track for the AMCA Nationals with some consistent performers across all three heats. Mark Allcorn took wins in both Heat 1 and Heat 2, before Deegan Sherwood answered back to take Heat 3 in a tight battle with Allcorn just 0.072 seconds separating them at the flag.
When it came to the Feature, Deegan Sherwood converted that Heat 3 form into the big result, taking the win over 16 laps ahead of Mark Allcorn in second by 7.448 seconds. Sarah Gordon had a solid night to round out the podium in third, with Paul Carmody in fourth and Brett Fidler in fifth.
BIKES
Rounding out the night on two wheels, Connor Bridgeford took the Feature win ahead of Kurt Baxter in second and Brad Niven in third. A great finish to the night’s racing!
