That's the real test of a tune — not what it does on the dyno, but what it does when you're 4,000km from home towing a van through the NT.

This Colorado owner did the big lap after getting tuned with us. Averaged 15.8L/100km the whole way, with the torque and power to handle whatever the road threw at it.

When a dealer flash wiped the tune mid-trip, we sorted a reinstall remotely. That's the Flash Diesel difference — the job doesn't end when you drive out of the workshop.

Your intercooler is working harder than it should.

Stock intercoolers are sized for factory power levels. Once you've remapped, you're pushing more boost — and a undersized intercooler means hotter intake air, which means the ECU pulls timing and you lose the gains you just paid for.

An upgraded intercooler keeps intake temps down, protects the engine, and lets the tune do its job properly.

It's not a glamorous upgrade. But it's the one that makes everything else work better.

The 79 Series LandCruiser is one of the most capable platforms ever built for the Australian outback. But Toyota left a lot on the table with the factory map.

A Flash Diesel remap on the 1VD-FTV unlocks the torque the engine was always capable of — stronger through the mid-range, more confident on loaded climbs, and less flogged-out on long towing runs. The difference is most obvious when you're heavy and the road gets rough.
