📣 NEW MOULD ALERT

The new VC Valiant bonnet mould is officially finished, and we've just pulled the very first bonnet from it... and it came out great! 🙌🏽

The first bonnet weighs in at just 13.3kg, but we can adjust the lay-up to make it lighter or heavier depending on your requirements and intended use.

Next up, the boot lid! 👌🏽

Stay tuned, Valiant fans – there's more to come.

The new VN Commodore bonnet mould is underway, and we’ve now laid the fibreglass on the bonnet skin. The inner is prepped and ready for gelcoat before we begin moulding that section.

We’ve had a VN bonnet available for many years, however the original mould was made with only the bracing sections reproduced. As a result, the underside had exposed fibreglass visible between the bracing.

With the new mould, we’re taking the same approach as our newer bonnet designs by filling those sections, creating a much cleaner, smoother underside finish with no raw fibreglass exposed.

As an example, the not-so-great photo shows our current VN bonnet inner where you can see the fibreglass between the bracing. In comparison, the VL bonnet inner shows the neater finish we’re aiming for, with all sections filled for a more factory-style appearance.

What a car!!! 🙌🏽🤍🤩

Genuinely excited to be finally updating this mould. It’s going to turn out mint.

Ok Queenslanders, we need to talk… 😂

You do not need to be running around with a sh*tty bonnet scoop.
No cracks.
No bubbles.
No bolts to hold it down. 😭

Your cowl should sit down nicely, be bonded properly, cut on a 45 degree angle and have the back edge trimmed so it actually blends into the bonnet the way it’s supposed to.

A properly fitted scoop should look like it belongs there — not like it survived a backyard battle with a tube of Sikaflex and a dream. 😂

And don’t let anyone tell you fibreglass doesn’t stick to metal. It absolutely does, and it’ll stay that way for a very long time — but only if it’s done correctly.

Luckily for you… we know how to do them correctly. 😏

It’s been a while since we've made one of these.
