In case you are not aware, Vicroads are moving the Pakenham Licence Testing Centre location in the middle of November. Any tests booked after the move date will be done at the new location. The new location is just off KooWee Rup Rd heading towards KooWee Rup from Pakenham turning after the freeway overpass, passing SoilWorx and Bowens, but before the BP/KFC. Livestock Way is on your left at the traffic lights and this meets Exchange Drive where you will see the new office.

VicRoads is opening a new purpose-built Customer Service Centre in Pakenham.  The new centre will bring together services currently provided at the Dandenong Customer Service Centre and Pakenham Licence Testing Centre, in one location.

Well done Abi!!
We may have only met last month for our first lesson, but you really didn't need that many as you had quite a lot of experience including road trips from Melbourne to Sydney and back and Melbourne to Brisbane and back. We both agreed that you knew how to drive safely so it was more about what was on the test and managing the nerves on test day, and answering lots of questions about what the tester was going to ask you to do. With a couple of lessons we soon had you pretty comfortable with both the reverse parallel park and three point turn and the one you demonstrated was made a little bit tricky by some additional part cars around us. We were back at Vicroads having completed the test in about 20 minutes today. Signs of a confident comfortable driver as you met all of the safe driving requirements the tester was looking for.

Congratulations to twin brothers Blake and Archie!! I first helped your older brother when he was just 16, and then started with you guys when you turned 16 and now here we are getting your licences! We've had plenty of practice in the lead up to today with lessons regularly once we started 16 and then a City Drive Experience for each of you as well as a lesson just before your test. You were both ready and quite calm as the test started, though there was a little extra pressure after the first test passed, but the second one felt like it flew by with such a great driving just as you do every time. When we got back to Vicroads the tester had barely any feedback for either of you complementing you both on safe drives. Keep up your driving like this and I'm sure your mum and your brother will be happy to be passengers with you. What an emotional day for you mum though, shedding a tear or two!

Congratulations Kamran! After getting recommended to use me from one of your friends who recently got their licence, we met for a lesson and assessed where you were at. Your lessons were always fun and engaging as we seemed to always find something funny, helping to make you a better driver and to be safe on the road. You demonstrated good driving skill, so we made plans for a test date and got you prepared by making sure those 2 hands were on the steering wheel, and how to properly reverse parallel park. Some nerves were present as we started as you made sure we did not exceed the speed limit, albeit perhaps a little too slow in some areas around the test route, but you were definitely driving safely.
So heartbreaking that your car was stolen from your driveway just days before your test. Hopefully replaced soon so you can get yourself around.

Congratulations Ella. I first met you for your first lessons back in November 2024 when we first started getting those nervous hours up; where even 10kph felt way too fast. We carried out a few lessons back then to get you comfortable and prepared to tackle some more hours with your parents and here we are now nearly 2 years later. You've had lots of experience in lots of different situations through this time so your test was just about trying to keep those nerves under control. You were very comfortable with your reverse parallel park and even preferred these to a three point turn, and that's lucky because you had to demonstrate one on your test. And I don't think I've ever seen a better one. The rest of your drive test was pretty calm and comfortable with the tester very happy in the backseat. I hope that you continue driving this comfortably and safely as you now drive around on your own. Congratulations Ella!

Congratulations and well done Summer. Another one of my long-term students who I helped out way back when they were just 16 finally getting her licence just after her 18th birthday. With a few lessons along your journey to make sure everything was going the way we wanted to make sure you were safe in all conditions, we got together again in the lead up to your 18th just before going for your test. We made sure you knew how to reverse parallel park like a professional, and answered heaps of questions about the test. Your nerves were going to be there for your test day but as long as you don't rush anything I knew you would be fine. That speed was something we needed to be aware of even more so as your test was during those school zone times. But it looks to me as though you got the job done!

Congratulations Ethan! I first met you after you got a few hours up and then we kept checking in over the years to make sure you were in a good space as it got closer to testing. Back in June we did the City Drive Experience where you demonstrated to me that you were a very competent driver. Everything felt pretty easy for you in around the trams and through the city and the same thing happened today on your test. The nerves became apparent as we had to wait an extra 10 minutes while Vicroads were running a bit behind today but we managed to get through those as we started the test. The tester explained everything well and you did great to check in and recheck to make sure you understood the instructions, helping keep those nerves were under control. Your reverse parallel park was probably the best one I've seen, timed perfectly on the day of your test. The rest of the drive was just like every other drive for you; pretty much faultless. Keep up the fantastic work Ethan and I'm sure Mum's nerves will stay at ease.

Congratulations Addie! From your very first nervous lesson back in November 2024 (we even had Mum in the backseat to try and help your nerves) it was a journey to gain your confidence and comfort behind the wheel of a car, but one that I really enjoyed helping you overcome. Remember back in those first lessons where it was scary to even get to 40 km an hour. I think Mum took the 8 lesson package and you gained confidence with your timing of what to look for, judging gaps and all those things that help keep us safe on the road. Once you started this journey on your own with Mum, you were soon racking up those hours and gaining more confidence each time. A couple of check-in lessons last year and now attempting your licence and passing on the first attempt. Addie you should be very proud of the drive you delivered today safely negotiating the test route. You overcame some nerves meeting the tester and before you knew it we were back at Vicroads having successfully completed the test. A lovely touch from Mum with a bunch of flowers and then about 300 photos before we could leave. Apparently this is something well-known that your mum does! Congratulations Addie.

Congratulations Maya!
I have helping your brother get his license a little while ago I was also asked to help you fine tune some of your skill and have you test ready. You were already pretty confident and knew how to do most things pretty well, it was just full polishing those finer points and to make sure you knew what to expect come test day. On the day of your test it was raining, oh by golly it was raining so much! And you were also carrying a small toe injury from work the day before. You were determined that this injury would not change the mood of the day and as we had our lesson driving the test area, you seemed to pretty calm and comfortable and ready for when the tester was sitting in the backseat. The tester gave you simple instructions and you followed them all exactly as they said, and we were back at the roads in about 25 minutes. A nice easy drive on a horrible weather day. Keep up this same level of driving, and I hope the toe was not broken!

Congratulations Olivia. Finally, you've turned 18 and you are able to go for your licence. It feels like it's taken forever to get here! So many of my students feel exactly the same way when it finally comes around. I first helped your brother get his licence and we started your lessons once you turned 16. We had regular check-in lessons to keep on top of your skill all working towards making you a safe driver on the road. Today's test was simply a demonstration of everything we've done in all of our locations, including our City Driving Experience. The nerves were there but the tester also made you feel as comfortable as possible as we started. Even though we practiced that reverse parallel park you were hoping for a three point turn and that's what we got. Back to Vicroads in about 22 minutes for a very fast test. There's a couple of things we maybe could've done better today, but that's just the nerves of the day not necessarily your driving style. Keep up that same level of driving and you'll be safe on the road.
