THE ENCHANTING LAKE KARIBA

Lake Kariba, one of the world’s largest man-made lakes where birds sore in the sky and fish live in the depths. Flanked on all sides by pristine nature reserves, this exceptional water mass is a testament to human ingenuity and not only contributes to the people of Zimbabwe and Zambia but also to a flourishing diversity of game, fish and b

irdlife. The shores of Kariba are home to the african elephant, buffalo and herds of wildebeest, zebra, sable, kudu, impala and waterbuck. The waters house pods of hippo, nile crocodiles as well as many species of fish. More elusive but still seen and heard are the prides of lion, the solitary leopard, giraffe, african wildcat, serval, honey badger, civet, african wild dog and spotted hyena. Birdwatchers are spoilt for choice as there are a great many species of african birds along the shores of the lake. A pair of binoculars can open the up the world of birdwatching opportunities to all who pick them up. Come and explore the enchanting Lake Kariba onboard one of our houseboats.
