Its a very capable heavy-duty truck, especially for long-haul and heavy-load work. Roughly 2,100 Nm, depending on specification.

For Zimbabwean operations, I’d rate a clean FH 440 as a serious workhorse, particularly if it will spend most of its life hauling on the highway. The key is buying a well-maintained unit rather than simply buying on the Volvo badge.

Then someone asked the question that has now opened a whole new debate:
“Can a Patrol reach 500,000 KM without any major issues?” 👀

Now let’s be honest… 500,000 KM is not a small number. That’s years of driving, rough roads, long-distance trips, towing, dust, heat and everything African roads can throw at a vehicle.

But this is where the debate gets interesting 😂
Is the Patrol genuinely not capable of 500,000 KM+ with proper maintenance?
