Key Internal Components
The engine head houses the hardware responsible for opening and closing the intake and exhaust valves:
Camshaft Phasers: Located at the end of the camshafts, these act as the "brains" of the timing. They use oil pressure to shift the camshaft's position relative to the crankshaft, advancing or retarding valve timing.
Oil Control Solenoid (OCV): This electronic valve regulates the flow of pressurized engine oil into the phasers to trigger timing adjustments.
Camshafts & Lobes: The rotating shafts that push down on the valves. Some systems feature "Active Cam Profiles" (like VTEC or similar tech) that switch between different lobe shapes for low-end torque or high-end power.

How It Works
The system dynamically adjusts the timing of the valves based on the engine's RPM and load:

Retarding (High RPM): Delays valve closing to allow more air/fuel mixture into the cylinder, maximizing peak horsepower.

THE 10 BASIC RULES OF DRIVING

(i) KNOW THE HIGHWAY CODE VERY WELL AND PUT IT INTO PRACTICE:

The Highway Code is the road user's bible and by keeping to the rules you will do much to keep our roads safe and more pleasant for all.

(ii) CONCENTRATE ALL THE TIME ON YOUR DRIVING TO AVOID ACCIDENTS:

Complete concentration will enable you to see and take notice of every detail. It is often the smallest detail that gives the clue to what will probably happen.

(iii) INTERPRET THE TRAFFIC SITUATION CORRECTLY BEFORE YOU ACT:

The idea that a good driver drives automatically is not true. The truth is that by concentrating all the time and thinking, he/she has raised driving to an art. Every driving operation and manoeuvre is a problem which, like every other problem, can be solved by interpreting the traffic situation.

(iv) EXERCISE PATIENCE AND 'HANG BACK' WHEN NECESSARY:

To 'hang back' is to follow at a safe distance the vehicle ahead which you eventually intend to overtake when the road is clear. When in doubt, 'hang back'.

(v) DRIVE WITH CARE AND GIVE COURTESY TO OTHER ROAD USERS:

Good driving continually calls for the making of quick and correct decisions, all of which must be carried out with care, especially when overtaking

(vi) ADAPT YOUR SPEED ACCORDING TO THE ROAD AND TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AND NEVER EXCEED THE SPEED LIMIT:

It is not always safe to drive at the highest speed allowed, even though the law permits you to do so. In some cases such a speed is dangerous. Only unwise persons can drive fast enough to be dangerous.

(vii) DEVELOP YOUR CAR SENSE AND REDUCE WEAR AND TEAR:

Car sense is the ability to get the best out of your car; it entails smooth and thoughtful operation of the controls with hands and feet. This can only be reached if the operations are carried out in good time. Car sense adds to your safety.

(viii) USE YOUR HORN CONSIDERATELY AND GIVE PROPER SIGNALS:
