Motorists will face large fuel price hikes on Wednesday, as the petrol levy cut falls from R1.50 a litre to 75c.
Petrol prices will be hiked by R2.37 (93) and R2.57 (95) a litre, while diesel prices will rise by R2.31 (0.05% sulphur) and R2.30 (0.005% sulphur) a litre, the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announced on Monday. In Gauteng, a litre of 95 petrol will cost R26.74 from Wednesday. This is 54% more than a year ago, when it cost R17.39.
Paraffin prices will increase by R1.66 a litre, while the maximum LPGas retail price will fall by R2.18/kg.

⛈️ Waarskuwing van vloede en kouefronte vir Kaapstad uitgereik

Die Suid-Afrikaanse Weerdiens (SAWD) het bevestig dat 'n reeks kouefronte vanaf Sondagaand 12 Junie 2022 tot Dinsdagaand 14 Junie 2022 die land sal binnekom.

Die voorspelling sluit ontwrigtende reënval, sterk winde en onstuimige seetoestande met golfhoogtes van tot 4,5 meter in.

Reënval van tussen 50mm en 80mm word oor die bergreekse verwag. Dít sal na verwagting tot oorstromings in landelike gebiede lei.

'n Geel vlak 4-waarskuwing is uitgereik vir reën wat kan lei tot moontlike plaaslike oorstromings van paaie en formele sowel as informele nedersettings oor die Kaapse Metro, westelike gebiede van die Kaapse Wynlande en die Overberg-streek.

'n Geel vlak 2-waarskuwing vir wind wat lei tot rowwe seetoestande en dus moeilike navigasie op die see word tussen Kaappunt en Kaap Agulhas verwag.

'n Geel vlak 3-waarskuwing vir wind wat moontlik kan lei tot skade aan formele en informele nedersettings word verwag oor die suidelike dele van die Namakwaland en die noordelike binneland van die Wes-Kaap.

Enige weerverwante noodgevalle kan aan die Metro se Openbare Noodkommunikasiesentrum gerig word deur 021 480 7700 vanaf 'n selfoon of 107 vanaf 'n landlyn te skakel.
